These are all proto suits. Long read here I was bored.
-AR = Caldari logibro
Best suit in game for best weapon in game. Nothing much to say here. AR is good on its own so it doesn't need a sidearm, so suit is perfect.
-TAR = Gallente assault
2 things you want for this weapon. Damage mods and a sidearm for CQC. The weapon has long range and high damage so damage mods are a better option than shields. Gallente suit reduces fitting costs for the weapon and can equip sidearm and armor plates. When I stack damage mods I always like to equip 3.
-Scrambler Rifle = Amarr assault
Suit reduces heat build up which makes the rifle much more effective. Same principle as the TAR the gun is better with damage mods. The suit has sidearm and can armor tank.
-Assault Scrambler Rifle = Caldari assault
2nd best suit for most sexy gun in game. The assault variant doesn't overheat, it works better with shields since it's mid range and almost always needs a sidearm to get throught that annoying armor. I personally use this one with a Flaylock and love it.
-Shotgun = Minmatar assault
Shields and speed is what you need for the shotgun. The Minnie has the best of both. And the sidearm bonus is useful when using an SMG or pistol, something you'll be using a lot for fleeing enemies or things that are just too far.
-Laser Rifle = Amarr assault
Heat build up reduction is necessary for this gun to even work. Laser Rifle has low base damage so shields and armor is what I'd do here. Shields also help with the overheat feedback damage.
-Mass Driver = Amarr logibro
Some time ago I made a thread explaining why I chose this suit as the best for the Mass Driver. The basics are the constant need of nanohives makes your equipment compromised so you get 2 more equipment options. Then we have damage mods which give huge bonus to Mass Driver high base damage. Finally it can armor tank with the fastest armor repair.
-Plasma Cannon = Gallente/Caldari assault
Damage mods or shields? Sometimes I wished the gun will do enough splash damage to OHKO any basic suit. Well it doesn't, that's why I'm more inclined to the Gallente assault for damage mods, plates and fitting cost reduction. And the sidearm which will be using a LOT. SMG
-Snipers = Gallente scout
Just kidding, lol. I laugh everytime I see this. I'm gonna say Gallente logibro for the damage mods, plates, ammo and triage nanohives and uplinks. Or you can set up those first and spawn as a Gallente assault which will give you the hybrid weapons fitting cost bonus and a sidearm.
-Swarms = Gallente assault
Damages mods and plates and the sidearm. Whatever with this pos...
Conclusion: If you choose a suit that's not here (ahem Minmatar logi) don't panic. The suit has pros in other areas that aren't offensive based. For example scout suits are mainly used for fun and the best weapon for them is the shotgun. This thread is not a list of best weapon for each suit. I'll make that one when I get bored again.
*Observations*
1. I thought that the Gallente suit was the worst suit in game but this list prove me wrong. The thing is very effective when using high base damage weapons.
2. Commando suit with assault Scrambler Rifle and Mass Driver. Such a deadly combination why I don't see it? How about TAR and AR?
3. We need more weapons.
If you disagree please explain why.

I would say the Assault ck.0 is best with the Mass Driver. This is because armor suits don't mix well with a MD. |

Because splash hits you as well and shields recover faster than armor right. Good point.

Min Log is better for shotgun in my experience. You get 2 more lows so you can run two red and one green combined with 4 shields extenders and a PG upgrade and passive reps on the suit are OP as always. You also get a hacking bonus which is quite nice for PC.
The extra fitting allows you to quite easily run a decent nanohive as well. |

If you don't feel the need for sidearm then Minmatar logistics it is yes I agree.

I disagree. When running a shotgun speed + HP = survival. The Min Assault has more base hp, more high slots, faster base speed, more stamina and a faster stamina recovery rate. This means that 1 of your 4 low slots on the logi is taken just trying to get on par with the assault (granted a complex will make it a little better), and even with the remaining 3 fit with complex kinetic catalyzers you won't be able to achieve the speed that the assault gets with 2. The fifth high slot on the assault is also handy to fit a shield energizer, further increasing your recovery from engagements
Granted the extra fitting capacity of the logi would be nice, but I would personally only use it as a situational fit where I can make compromises in speed for hacking ability. I would say that by and large you would be more survivable and a more effective killer using the assault, given the above reasons and the ability to use a sidearm (which I've found to be invaluable given the nature of shotgun hit detection presently). |

TAR is good on a scout or minmatar assault; speed = kiting. It's kind of a **** weapon for frontline CQC so it works well on suits designed to avoid that. And 100 rnd clip SMG on mk.0 assault is groovy for when the **** hits the fan.
Swarms = Minmatar assault hands down. Speeed to chase tanks and/or play circle of death with LAVs, room for 3x damage mods and 2x extenders, and again... 100 rnd SMG allows you to continue the fight after the tank is a flaming heap of scrapmetal. Similar logic applies to the suit's suitability for the plasma canon.
The others... whatever. |

Well the Amarr suit is not that good on it's own. The skill bonus that reduces heat build-up is great. But that gun doesn't overheat that much, at least when I use it. So Caldari assault it's just perfect with high shields and a sidearm.

Minmatar assault crossed my mind a lot when trying to choose a suit for the Plasma Cannon. But when equipping damage mods, Gallente has better survivability with armor tank and the fitting bonus reduces a lot of CPU/PG.
But this weapon you use it most in CQC since it sucks at range. I'm thinking ADV Gallente scout with 2 damage mods, plates and SMG. I wished I could test this sounds like a lot of fun... :(

Yeah I've not found survivability with shotgun is enough to warrant a sidearm personally. And if logis didn't have the passive reps I would agree with you. It might be best not to skill into logi anymore for it, considering those passive reps will get taken away eventually I'm sure of it. |

Its better to run with an MD on a shield fit, because incidental splash damage is deadly.
You'd think that the the caldaris would be the ones better with the TAC-AR becaue shield buffer+range is more deadly than the shield buffer up close.
Gallente + close range weapons (SG/AR/SMG) + damage mods should let you have the same eHP as a shield buffer, but be able to out DPS them if you can get on top of them. |

I agree with most of this.
As a dedicated sniper, I would go Gallente Assault anytime rather than Logi. I just lol at MLT suits thinking I don't see them as they come at me with their crappy AR. I would never give away my SMG for those times.
And... yes. I do snipe in a scout suit a lot when playing in a squad. Why? I move a lot and I call out enemies shouting in my mic. I find it easier with a scout because I run very fast and I support my squad constantly. Of course I sacrifice my KDR for this, so yes, sadly Scouts are bad snipers. And this is conceptually wrong. Very wrong. |
