Good tips Yun, your guide is well thought out and well constructed, you get a +1 from me. I also want to add a few tips about the use of remote explosives, not just for defending but for getting out of sticky situations as well.
The basic premise here is that you were spotted, and being pursued by hostiles, probably with very lethal weaponry. In these cases outgunning your opponent is simply impossible, or extremely difficult at best. What you can do, however, is outsmart them.
What you need to do is run away as fast as possible into a hiding place, preferably behind a corner where there is limited room to maneuver and can easily predict where the enemy is going to come from. Once you're sure that the enemy is coming after you, place down a remote explosive on the path where you know your enemy will come, while making sure your enemy can't see it, and then back off to make sure you're not caught in the explosion. When your group of enemies finally gets around the corner to try and get you, detonate your remotes and you will get a big fat 50+ for blowing up your unsuspecting enemy.
This is a great tactic for taking out multiple hostiles at once if you can time your detonation right, and can predict where the enemies are going to come from. It is also a great way to annoy the heck out of your enemy when they lose their 200,000 ISK suit permanently. Being annoying is also a key part in being a scout. The more your enemies focus on trying to hunt you down instead of try to take or defend objective, the better your team's chances are on winning the game.
And as a small tip for remotes, you can still detonate them even after you have been incapacitated(different from being terminated, you can't be revived if your clone has been terminated). If you had your remotes equipped at the time of your death, you can still detonate them before the info screen about your killer appears. This gimmick works great for suicide charges on heavily defended objectives, or still trying to get your enemy after you were shot before you could detonate your explosives. |
