Hi. As in topic what LLav may be better? Shield or armor? For + and - i only know that (if im right) shield is better vs swarms etc, armor may help better bec i more often see armor tanks, less gunlogis. Well and its hard to fill modules in both xd. Should i try to eqiup extender/plate + dmg ress 10% + repp/booster? |

nothing , you get nerf thats all , you now push aside infantry if you try to run them over and the damage you give them is reduced
turret is useless in FPS view

Shields are naturally more durable against AV weapons that can hit you. (swarms and AV grenades)
Armour reps faster, so you can prolong engagements against other vehicles and heal up if you're a bad driver and keep hitting things.
Thing is, how often will you be engaging other vehicles or turrets in an LAV?
Something to think about though is what you plan to do with the LAV. I have one setup for scanning runs through areas to coordinate orbitals for example, and another to support an armour tank, or a squad of infantry. |

You should consider which tank you like. If you spec into LAVs and the vehicle modules you are most of the way to a tank anyway.
It'd be a shame to go shields and then want to do armor tank later.
At the moment armor tanks are the way to go. Even with the upcoming vehicle changes seems the armor tank will remain a close range hit and run beast.
Also, I like that I can run a mobile CRU in the Gallente armor LAV but can't fit it in the Caldari shield LAV. |

Operative.. I have a Chary with a CRU in it :D
I'd recommend the Charybdis (Caldari) for sheer tank, it;s alot more survivable than the Limbus.

I went shield llav and right now it has 51% shield resistance duel shield reps, and a lvl 3 blaster. Shield llav are faster because armor ways you down, armor also take 30% more damage to explosives ie. Swarms and av nade, shields get a 30% resistance to explosives and 1.5 might be a nerf 1.4 you can run people over at high speed not low speeds. But 1.5 there changing vehicle mods so llav may not be as good but I'll still run people over. |
