I can't wait for the new modules and hopefully we start getting WP for playing support. I have a logi Dropship fitted with shield transporters ready to support... you can find me at the ceiling if you need reps. lol |

CCP Rattati wrote:Impressive stuff, that guy you were chasing around 2:00 did pretty well though to survive the onslaught for as long as he did.
Maybe in the far future, people will re-discover the mythical "Explosive flying contraption that seeketh out other airborne units by magic or the grace of god"
Yeah, those after burners do help a lot when you need to get away. If you also notice, a lot the shots the were aimed on hit but because of the distance they kept blowing up before they reached him allowing him to survive much longer than if the missiles lasted a bit longer. |

Loading up a tanked up Dropship with a Two heavies, two assaults, and Two Logi's and dropping troopers in waves on objectives or buildings, securing the area, taking the objective, and then getting a pick up afterwards to bail. (This is Adamance)
oh yes, we do normally run transportation but its mostly in PC or with corp mates. we do not approve of blueberries entering our dropships. |

Pvt Numnutz wrote: what type of missiles were you using? i want to say fragmented, Accelerated has alot of range and is good for dropship to dropship engagements. Harder to hit infantry though
Was using accelerated. Even with alot of range, its still not long enough for air to air combat.
Nalhe Saldana wrote: Wow, good job piloting but this looks like crap tbh. The missiles seems uber hard to aim with, the UI doesn't help with it at all and most of the time your ship is in the way of aiming..
Thanks, I agree that it is very difficult to fly and shot because of the aiming and DS blocking targets. But that's what makes Dropships special. It's not a vehicle anyone can simply jump into and expect how to use it. There's a sort of art to it. And those that take the time and dedication to learn the mechanics feel proud of themselves to be part of a small group DS pilots. You feel like you accomplished something everytime you get a kill, you know you have skill when you hit double digits, and when you kill multiple tanks while getting shot at by forges and swarms... it makes you feel GODLIKE!!!! |

Our main focus this time around was air to air combat and tank stomping. We realized that by bringing out 4-5 Dropships, it makes enemy feel left out, and they decide to call in Dropships hoping to be accepted to the group.... only to end up being chased the entire match. |

Oh yeah you have to do it with an organised squad or it doesn't work. And one single DS can cover two squads if the pilot is quick enough, skilled enough, and ballsy enough. This makes me sad. I understand that doing something like this with blueberries is a bad idea and all vehicle drivers/pilots agree, but why does it have to be that way? I'm sure they can develop some sort of system that makes it clearly obvious for blueberries what the pilot wants them to do.
Its actually easy to fix. Blueberries need to be in team chat. The main reason we dislike blueberries is because they dont listen... unfortunately the reason they cant listen is because either they are not on correct channel, or simply do not have a mic. If they did, I would be more than happy to play with blueberries. |

That's true.... that was simply a compilation of 2 matches as they were our first. As we start playing more I promise the videos will get better. |

It was to show how ridiculous air to air combat can be... the ability to run away about your shields go down makes it very dificult to kill dropships. It also shows how vehicles should fear Dropships. |

Morrigan Uroboros wrote:No shield rep? I would have thought that would be suicidal. Im pretty new to being a dropship pilot, coming up towards 2 mil sp i think now, just wondering how you would rate my python build?
2 shield extenders active shield hardner shield booster 1 adv accelerated missile pilot gun 2 std accelerated missiles 2 small payload, a 7% and a 10%
This is my newest build, and seams to be working ok so far, just with the cost of running them I cant really play around with fits too much and really work out what works best without burning more isk than I have, any helps appreciated
3 shield extenders and a booster. if my shield gets low I chill in the flight ceiling and let the passive shield recharge do its thing. |

Tonight went great, lots of fun with our wingmen. Look forward to doing this again more often. Working on better and more exciting video compilation and so far I like the footage I'm getting. |

I thought that was how it worked. lol |

If they did, I would be more than happy to play with blueberries. However the issues arise after the drop even with blue dots who are listening. They cannot call targets, they cannot tell us if they are down, they cannot call for pick ups. I would love for some of you DS pilots to roll with a well drilled and well meshed Air Cav team watching the carnage from a dropship on high is glorious. Massed Teleport Attacks (aka using drop uplinks to spawn bomb and area), co-ordinated drops on multiple levels, aggressive drops, tactical drops. On a minimally defended objective you can have everything blue in under 30 seconds and be out of there and in the sky in another 30. Contrary to reality if you aren't in and out in under a minute you aren't doing it right....
I love doing that with my corpmates. Stealth operations are fun. We attack the objective with the least enemies and get out before they notice. The excitement of being behind enemy lines. It's a thrilling experience.
