From what it seems, the only way to restore ammunition is with supply depots, unless CCP is inviting us tankers to abuse recall.
Seems like destroying supply depots will become a viable AV tactic; nuke the one in the redline and have a sniper stalk the tanker for when he gets out to recall (and consequently resupply) Job done.
I would hope we're given access to some sort of nanohive, as well as internal reserves. |

I can't quote it unfortunately (iPhone) but it's in Wolfman's post about changes coming in 1.5. It's in a tl;dr at the end, as well as being explored in greater detail earlier in the piece.
EDIT: I can link it for others' reference, though. |

I am slightly concerned about these changes.
When playing infantry, I have a stock of two nanohives at least, and there's always another two in my squad at the very least. In conjunction with the far lesser penalties for dying, I don't run out of ammo.
With a tank, the destruction of supply depots will be devastating; you could make a strong argument for tanks staying in their side of the battlefield to prevent some joker in a Sica taking down your depot while you're gone. |

They should add a few new modules for LAV's, like vehicle nanohives and other logistical thingymabobers, and award wp's for their use. Limited nanite stores that would be replenished by supply depots. |

Buff Supply Depot HP more if needed. Though currently they are tougher than most installations anyways. |
