There should be war points awarded for anti-hacking a null cannon currently in the contested state after the enemy has hacked it. Currently because anti-hacks are so slow there is a good chance that before your anti-hack is finished the previous contested hacks completes which swaps control over to the enemy and requires a fresh hack (this has happened to me several times). Also during the anti-hack you are massively vulnerable and get very little reward for this risk.
This actually encourages you to allow the enemy hack to go through successfully so you can then immediately hack it back quickly without being to vulnerable for too long and giving you the opportunity to score 100 WP if you can defend the new hack during the contested phase. Things like this where it encourages bad team play for greater personal reward are an imbalance IMHO.
By awarding say 50WP for an anti-hack then you encourage good team play and it justifies the risk of being vulnerable for during the anti-hack. There is a risk again that for personal gain players may deliberately allow an enemy to hack into the contested state so they can immediately anti-hack for points but with the anti-hacks being so slow this would balance out to not really being worth the risk. |

2 things:
First, people have been complaining about this since beta. So far, nothing. I've given up.
Second, considering the extended duration of the hack and the value of the target, I feel it should still award you a full 100 points. |

I actually believe it has already been confirmed that this was going to be added as well as other war point actions (one dev even said a head shot bonus is planned, sigh). |

I think the reason it's not there in the first place is to prevent WP farming with continuous hacks/counter hacks. They said they need to come up with ways to prevent people from exploiting the system. The whole WP system is being looked at in 1.5 supposedly. |

I don't really agree because counter hacks take ages and you're really vulnerable so good luck trying to farm WPs from counter hacking. A fair amount of time you're going to get shot and have to abandon it or die. The decision to make counter hacking so slow was surely the balance to prevent the exploitation you are talking about. |

Agree counterhack needs 100wp. I don't think farming is a reason not to do this, you'd still get more points per minute hacking and rehacking other installations because a counterhack takes so long, plus it's riskier to farm an objective as it attracts more attention. |

This similar concern was for people just shooting and farming WPs with repair tools, but they fixed that so the individual can only get a certain number of WPs per time period. In order for this to work for hacks, you'd have to have the actual hacking action have a cooldown period, but then this would cause WP problems with genuine hacks (otherwise you'd just have people taking turns).
I agree that it doesn't make a whole lot of sense that a counter hack takes longer yet provides no benefit.

Well here's my problem with counter hacks as they currently are, they take more time then a hack by a time and a half, give no points even when you are successful, and you've put me out of the battle that entire duration on one task, where during that time, I could have probably made over 100wp rather easily doing a variety of other activities. In other words the current system is directly punishing me for being a team player.
This effectively means I am getting less SP per match then someone that is just focussing on their KD ratio by a lot or a person who is being a medic, for example if you have the ability to heal the people bleeding out 2 stabs and you've gotten 120 points, their also is no limit upon how much you can do this. I'm sure everyone knows a method they could easily have gotten over 100 points during the extensive time a counter hack takes. Simply put thier is no effective way to farm counter hacks due to how much time they take even if you get them the same points as a finished hack does. A simple way of preventing farming this would be that the points only arrive to you, if you have successfully guarded the objective for 30 seconds from anyone else hacking it again. |
