As of now, it seems that all suits can melee at the same speed (of course, the recently popular melee glitch is a different issue). However, the damage done by each suit is different, with larger frames doing more damage per hit. This in itself is not very bad, as it would make sense that the larger fist would pack a bigger punch (pun intended).
I propose that melee rate is scaled inversely to melee damage, i.e. Scouts can melee quickly, peppering their opponent with many light blows and dodging around, whilst Heavies punch with a much greater, albeit less frequent, hit. This would help to balance out melee across all classes, in addition to slightly buffing Scouts.
Of course, this is a non-factor until they fix the Turbo Melee. |

It won't matter
Here's Why: Melee requires a lot of stamina. No matter how fast you can melee you may only make two or three before pooping out. You might have to also make an inverse stamina thing. I've never noticed a significant change in stamina while meleeing. More than likely because my stamina recharges faster then I can melee it out (Scout suit, Militia Cardiac Regulator, Biotics V, Cardiac Regulation IV). If I super stamina tank, I have Turbo Meleed 10 or more times in a row. |

Bojo The Mighty wrote:Oh sorry, that was the assumption that you never have full stamina because as a scout I am always jumping and sprinting and stuff. Valid point, but I'm not a super up-in-your-face kind of scout. I usually only melee when I both my SMGs are empty and someone is super close to dead, destroying equipment, or for angrily punching people who I wish to be humiliated to death. |

Maybe Medium Frames remain as they are, Heavy frames recover from the melee about 1.25 times slower, and Light frames recover about 1.25 times faster than the Medium. |

Well, now that the turbo-melee has been fixed, this idea might help to improve them melee system, at least in regards to balance between the frames. |
