[IDEA 1]: Kind of inspired by the anti-air artillery from MAG; when active, it prevented the attackers from spawning from the airplane (which would be a major distance advantage), and forces them to spawn back in the beginning of the map. Was a very important sub-objective for attackers to eliminate. For Dust I would like to see something similar, a spawn denial installations that broadcast a signal to shut down all enemy drop uplinks, CRUs, mobile CRUs, and objective-spawning when activate. This would force one team to spawn back at their base. Something like this powerful should be reserved as an objective in an attack/defend mode since it would give the team that controls it too much of an advantage. We will eventually get an attack/defend mode similar to the original Skirmish 1.0 sometime in the unreasonably far future where this would fit.
For neutral game modes (like the current Ambush, Skirmish, and Domination), smaller spawn denial installations could be present, but it could have a very limited area of effect.
[IDEA 2]: Inspired by Section 8, and originally proposed by Cat Merc https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&t=47429 Everyone should be able to select anywhere on the map that isn't in the redzone to drop into battle from the sky. What should limit where you can spawn are anti-air installations (AAI) that shoot down spawning enemies that try to spawn within their 200 meter radius of the AAI. When selecting your spawn location, you will be able to see the radii of the AAI so you know where to avoid. This method of spawning not only makes more sense than magically appearing out of nowhere, it also gives players much more freedom in choosing exactly where they want to spawn. For an attack/defend mode, defenders should start off with several AAI covering their objectives.
Such a big change will have effects on CRUs and drop uplinks, but it doesn't have to make them obsolete: Drop uplinks could allow players to spawn in its location, even if the area is covered by an AAI.
CRUs could do the same, but also grant the team which controls it 15 extra clones to give it more tactical value.
"If you activate inertia dampeners early in the air, you will land "softly", you instantly look up once you hit the ground and you are ready to shoot. If you do it this early the AA will 100% kill you since you spend a long time in the air. If you activate inertia dampeners right in time you will have a 3 second animation of standing up. You will take severe damage from the AA and if there is more than one in that area you are toast. If you activate inertia dampeners late, then the the AA will only moderately damage you but you will take at least 6 seconds to stand up and shoot. If you don't activate the dampeners then... splat. Also, the spawning timer can be removed (Or shortened to like 3 seconds), because the orbital drop will take 10 seconds alone"
Idea 2 is my ideal system, though idea 1 would be easier to implement with the current spawn system. Feedback welcomed. |

Pretty similar except even broader, as it shuts down supply depots, active mods, all equipment. |

In section 8 I have a suit designed for "redzone spawning". I get hit some but I always touch down with full hp. The suite is designed for spawning in un-expecting locations, and quickly getting to and hacking the objective. This will immediately get the enemy's attention and pull them away from the front lines and that allows my own forces to push forward.
`Sigh. Just another fun game of DUST. |

I think that drop uplinks should have much fewer spawns and much harder to kill, they should be replaced with drop beacons, which come with unlimited spawns, dont help spawn time, and allow drops anywhere within an area, so spam doesn't help!!
Then even if there was spam, a "beacon jammer" will effect everything in the area and mean your clone wont come round until its too late to activate dampners. Beacon jammers come in both deployable and installation variations which basically allows you to create air superiority.
Drop Uplinks become the hard counter, hard to detect large amount of health but only a dozen or so spawns, and allow spawning inside a building!! |

There was an equipment on Ghost Recon called jammer, the ingeneer use it and all the enemy elettronic systems within its range are disturbed, maybe an AoE equipment like that would be cool. If not completely disabling enemy equipment it could nerf it. Raise the time for spawns, reduce the resupply rate for nanohives, disable the RE (the explosive remains there but can't be detonated) |

To me this makes perfect sense. The MCC should be pretty high above the battleground so that this could be a possibility. The uplinks incorporate wormhole tech according to lore so it is lore friendly, and I would love to go splattering merc's falling from the heavens with my dropship! |

The MCC is pretty high above the BF. I think part of this could be implimented simply by having a set of disposable glider wings when you jump from the MCC and be able to glide your way over to where you want to land. This would put in some built in limitations and then also putting in some AA guns would work well. Just as a funny addition doing damage if you hit an enemy player while gliding i would be THRILLED to use my heavy suit as a built in bomber so i could say release my glider at 20 feet and slam down onto a smaller dropsuit and crush the enemy :) then of course spend the next 5 minutes waiting for my armor and shields to repair. |
