Just curious. Because so many would say it's doable. So I'd just wanna see the devs do that. Ideally with a <4 mil SP character.
Special note though - if the 'action' is like the promo video of the heavy sniper (and the guy walking up behind him fires early and fires little), that tinsel doesn't qualify. Oh, and no editing out any points where you die to the MD - that's all part of the video. |

Devs are not allowed to reveal there none dev characters, to prevent the same. Thus the issue. though they do play internally, and you could probably talk some of them into recording something on one of the internal servers, but since those are all running 1.4+ I doubt it would be released. Who watches the watchmen?
Perhaps they could invite some of the exo users to play on their internal servers.
What I'm implying is that the devs may very well be using the MD in a tea and crumpets sort of way, only using it for certain things and not attempting to repurpose it to other applications (like ones the devs never even thought of) like players do. Such isn't a test of anything but their own echo chamber.
Reminds me of their abusive name policy form letter they sent when I reported someone who had **** in their name. That 'unfortunately' for 'privacy' reasons they...could not give any information that would let anyone else see whether they do anything or just don't bother (but a form letter could never lie, could it?)

Arkena Wyrnspire wrote:If you're looking for tips on fighting the mass driver, I'd recommend fighting from elevated ground. It's difficult for a mass driver to hit you up there. I don't understand why this is considered a tip.
How do you know when someone has a mass driver?
AFTER they've fired it (if MD weapons made a warning noise like LAVs and dropships do, I'd pay this point). How exactly do you decide to be on higher ground at that point?
If you can get to higher ground, can the MD user also do that?
Yes.
Where are the objectives all placed.
On flat ground.
Where are the infantry choke points for the objectives.
On flat ground. Go guard somewhere else and you don't cover that ground at all. May as well be in the MCC.
The whole height thing is a pittifully small disadvantage. May as well say they have to reload at some point, so there's a disadvantage as well - but it's a **** weak one. |

ladwar wrote:the answer is simple...shot them. they have the lowest DPS out of any weapon. in a fire fight you can kill them before they kill you. range works too since they are much hard to use at range. even the FG has more DPS on its splash damage. well besides the plasma cannon splash it has the lowest DPS in the game but only slightly. w/ the commando and its own reloading skill maxed out it has 120~ dps (w/o skills to boost damage) and the best MD splash dps is 138.
even SMGs have 350+ dps. I believe you have multiplied damage by ROF....and that's all you've done.
When you're going to glaringly ignore that much - well, okay, go record the next ten encounters you have with an exo MD user.
That or start taking weapon kick into account/that holding down the fire button does not work/that you don't get to use maximum ROF. |
