Whoever thought X or G are suitable keyboard shortcuts for cooking grenades? One doesn't allow us to move forward, the other doesn't allow us to strafe... That just won't do.
I understand that you will probably allow us to set custom keyboard shortcuts eventually, but can we PLEASE have a quick fix for this in the meantime?
ALT would be a great key for cooking grenades.
If that's not possible, please allow CTRL. Crouching would be better suited on the C key anyway (not just because it's a logical mnemonic... It is also easy and quick to tap it, easier than to use the pinky finger for CTRL).
Even better would be the fourth mouse button of course.
So many possibilities... And such an easy fix that would make a world of difference. Please don't pass up this low hanging fruit!! :) |

Fix to issue.
Delete KBM control. It would make to average DS3 user at a disadvantage, and you really can't fix the imbalance unless you make the KBM sluggish, which then the keyboard using people would complain about being artificially handicapped.
It's a CONSOLE game. The keyboard belongs on the PC, not the PS3 |

If KBM is indeed superior, then yes It will leave unmotivated players at a disadvantage. The only way to fix any imbalance is to step your game up.
How long do you think Dust will stay a PS3 exclusive?
Anyway, +1 on changing the grenade cook key.
+9000 on fully customizable button/key/sensitivity/acceleration/deadzone settings.

Turn at extreme speeds, which it now can do due to removal of turning speed limits.
Is much more precise then any gamepad.
Has over 30 buttons for mapping of various controls, without having to slog through horrendous control wheels.
Can actually type in comms.
Can strafe like nobodies business.
Yes, custom bindings are nice, but realize your playing a game based on a console, and that console it based around a gamepad.
The main group of players, should be at least, regular console guys with dS3's.
KBM is already better then DS3 in every way, and any console player that's plays 1.4 will understand it.
The only way for this issue to be truly resolved, is the removal on one of the control styles, as DS3ers will realize that KBM is better, and demand a fix. CCP brings KBM on par with DS3. KBM then complain theyare artificially handicapped, and demand the removal of the barriers. DS3 complains, and the cycle repeats.
The only way for the moaning from both sides to end, is the removal of one of the styles, and off CCP realizes what came in the box with the console, we know its KBM. |
