You only have a million into vehicles?
I'd suggest going for something different.
If you're dead-set on sticking with it, there's a bunch of us that can help you. For now, use cheap tanks in a very controlled environment, like using a Sica at the beginning of a match to take out a few turrets, then recall it so you don't lose it.
Also sounds like you already put SP into turret operation. Your first 8 million must go into vehicle upgrades. Ignore turret operation and vehicle command for a long time. Work on making your vehicles stronger, increasing its defenses. If you're up against a really bad team, use a tank with a blaster when they're redlined. Or if you want to try using rail, learn to use it without needing zoom at medium ranges. That way you aren't fully concentrated on the zoom, but can provide instant attention to moving should you need to. I'm better now with that than I was a month ago, because keeping the ISK is more important than using zoom. |

You might not have access to the right gear so, get the next best thing you do. Also, you might not have enough PG/CPU initially. We don't have enough PG anyway. |

I'm better now with that than I was a month ago, because keeping the ISK is more important than using zoom. I'd argue that one point into turret skills is a good way to maximise fitting, just to get access to STD gear (unless I've misunderstood, in which case disregard) Best off slowly going into turrets. Obviously, small turrets are an afterthought because on a tank, he's not going to use them except in rare cases he's alone in his tank, and some dumb red dot decides to jump on the turret.
In Chromosome, I worked on the core upgrades first. I started using Aurum hulls and turrets before skilling higher into operation. When I put the Aurum PRO turrets on the Madrugar for the first time, and realized what I could do, I said to myself "now I get it."
Vehicle upgrades are first and foremost. If you have a decent Sica with shield skills at 3, you'll do well against guys with MLT AV. |

I have put over 1 million into my tank already and I really feel like the fit I have now isn't strong enough to keep swarms from easily destroying my costly tank. I've seen shield tanks on the opposing team that literally cannot be destroyed by swarmies. My squad got so fed up with that tank so we all decided we'd get the swarm launchers and they did ABSOLUTELY NOTHING to that tank, (There were like 6 ppl with swarm launchers) his shield went down just a notch. The thing that bothers me is that, people with militia launchers can just as easily stalk and kill me then the advanced launchers. I just want some suggestions on how I can get my shield tank better than what it is now. Anyone have advice or fits for a newbie tanker? My fit: (2x )Resistance amps (supplemental) (1) Heavy converse shield booster (1) Heavy shield extender (1) Shield Extender (2) Beta PG expansionsTurrets (2x) cycled missles 80GJ scattered blaster Is this a good fit? Could you give some advice on how I could improve? I dont care to help tankers. But free bump and +1 because instead of whining you are looking for a solution to your problem. Wow, infantry acting hostile to someone asking for advice on tanking, why am I not surprised. |

Only over 8 mil? I have over 9 mil into vehicle upgrades alone. |

You might not have access to the right gear so, get the next best thing you do. Also, you might not have enough PG/CPU initially. Can't fit a stabilized ion cannon on that, it's over 1500 PG. |

Xocoyol Zaraoul wrote:Your fit mainly suffers from only having 1 million SP... Your line of thinking is solid considering what you've fit on your tank conceptually it is just all terribly low-skill items....
More SP required. Also if you are running a gunnie, you might want to use a railgun even for up-close work, just a tip though.
Also all of this "Keep your fits secret" nonsense is just that, nonsense. For gunnies with maxed SP there is really only a handful of sane fits... HAVs are so horribly limited that unlike dropsuits there is very little deviation (for good fits, for #YOLO fits do whatever the hell you want). There is very little mysticism nor secrecy for shield HAVs, though admittedly armor HAVs have a smidge more room for variance.
PM me in-game and I will give you solid fits for rails, blasters and missiles (that will require more SP)... Sometime in the next few days.
EDIT: To make any gunnie last on the battlefield you need minimum 3 million SP sunk into vehicle related skills imo, and you'll need Vehicle Electronics at III and the Core Upgrade skill that adds PG & CPU at V for any credible top-line fit. That skill doesn't add PG. |
