Due to the "squad vision" beeing disaibled means that locating hostiles will be alot harder. This means that active scanners are going to be one of the most required equipments for competetive gameplay. This means that more people will complain about them for beeing "overpowered". Espacially the quantum proto active scanner which tags you on the map for whopping 25 secs. |

They probably won't be all that popular until 1.5 though, when they will reward WPs.
Until then it will be one of those things you want someone else in your squad to carry. |

It will also make people invest in profile damping.
I've been using the basic one and almost nobody has PDs on. |

I have spec'd into them quite recently because of this and they are useful but annoying to use. You use it and it enters cooldown but once its cooled down you cant reuse it until you swap to something else and back again. |

I foresee a lot less teamwork in 1.4 due to a lack of squad vision.
Assault Rifle users will generally not bring an active scanner since personal nanohives are mandatory. Similarly Mass Driver users won't start scanning down opponents. Actual Logibros will also not be able to run a scanner since they'll need to run a repper in 1.4 for all those armor-users I'm expecting to show up.
My hopes are for Logi-Assaults. They can perhaps squeeze in a scanner into their fittings. I'll propably do this myself. |

I use active scanners on my logi suit and the info can be very useful to coordinate, say, a team's sniper. You also have to be aware that the user gets lit up like a Christmas tree when they activate it - and for that reason it is definitely off my scout suit. Use it wisely |

Good points. I never saw a reason for the assault suits loosing their second equipment slot in the first place. A frontline soldier with a hive/scanner or hive/medkit combo seems reasonable to me, and it will make the game more un for a lot of players. I never saw a point to limiting equipment to just one class, as it mostly is n practice due to most assault players needing to carry a hive. |

I always think that a scout suit should have 2 equipment slots. Its no like we will live long to become OP. |

Yes, they should.

Shhhhh don't tell anyone about my active scanner. My KDR has shot up so much since investing in an active scanner. It's now the only equipment I run as an Assault. I used to just run into all situations guns blazin, but now when I scan beforehand and see 6 red dots light up just around the corner I'm like "NOPE. Time for high ground." |

I always run an A-45 active scanner on my proto logi suits, since I have 4 equipment slots. I've pulled off some crazy, dangerzone moves skirmishing against entire squads by myself because I was able to see where they all were at all times and when some turned around to start chasing me, I was able to get out of the line of fire before they even got close to me.
Scan range amplifiers will actually be useful, and having a scout in squad will be far more important. I also like that a squad composition based around stealth might actually work. |

Acctive scanners are awesom . I was running minja scout on the bridge map when a tanker was calling out a rail turret ir tank he couldent see. I was already near tge enimy redline at d and seen the tank . Now being a tanker myself I know all about rendering issues so I decided to test my scanner . So I scuisided and respawnd ob my uplink near the enimy tank and scanned him with the acctive scanner sure enough my squad mate was able too him and exchange vollys while I kept scanning him . Eventually the enimy tank poped from my squadies rail but ibrecieved nothing but the squad commision for my proper scout work . Yes the acctive scanners are awesome but id like a% base reward for anything/one I scann that gets killed during the show time. |
