I've searched the forums and read many contradictory posts on this...
Do BPO items gain bonuses from relevant skills? I recently bought the merc pack - I'm convinced the 'valor' scout BPO (not the suit in the pack) receives the Gallente scout bonus. Can I assume the 'toxin' AR and SMG benefit from their respective weapon skills bonuses as well? Same for the Dragonfly Assault I guess (I'm not speccing into Caldari assault to test the theory...).
Some say items that require no skills to use get no benefit from skills - I think that is false, but like I said many posts say either way - I mainly want clarification about the toxin/BPO weapons.

BPO weapons gain the boosts from levelling skills, such as Assault Rifle proficiency.
Not so sure about the BPO Dropsuits. They should get the Racial Bonus, if they're a race variant eg: Valor Scout. The Dragonfly Scout probably won't get anything. |

Thanks - though I should clarify that the 'dragonfly' in the merc pack is a Caldari assault - not the Gallente Scout - and many people have said it benefits from the shield recharge bonus. |

Oh, the 'new' Dragonfly is an Assault. The original one from the pack was a Scout. |

I can confirm that the Dragonfly does indeed receive the Assault recharge and the Racial shield extender bonus. My Dragonfly shows a base recharge of 25.00 but with my level 3 assault bonus it registers at 28.75. The shield extender should add 66 HP but with the level 3 Racial bonus it actually adds 78 HP. I wasn't aware of this until I checked. Think I might start using my Dragonfly Assault a little more!  |

So - it's looks like all the suit and weapon BPOs benefit as normal from their associated skills? Good, good...
Now hopefully, the next time anyone uses the search function to search for an answer to this it will be a lot easier to find  |
