I have been paying attention to whats been killing me lately, and the number of "cheap deaths" experienced in pub games has reached an all time high. I estimate that over 90% of my deaths are from: - run over by LAV - forge sniped - sniped - random nades Unless there is a blob or my own stupidity involved, I hardly ever die to a light weapon. It makes the game seem somewhat "cheap". It is frustrating to be on a roll, killing left and right, barely making it to cover in time just to get blown up by some A-hole standing on top of some tower. I can remember Tosh from SI taking me out due to superior aim a couple of days ago. I as per usual sent a GG message. The feeling I got there is something I miss, that sense of respect and awe (in lack of a better term) you feel when somebody is out-smarting you or simply takes you down due to superior skill. In short, death by skilled gameplay is almost gone. I am very much looking foreward to the next patch which I hope will with the strafe speed and collision dammage tweaks and not least the new match making system, put the game back on its track in terms of making it more competitve and I hope more of my future deaths come from player skill, not from some broken mechanic as is mostly the case now.
My montage: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SrLO3Ijedgo
Unfortunatley this just shows problems with the AR, the majority of the time you spent hip firing, however I might need to get my hands on some if those grenades!! |

I use ADS most of the time.... And what problem do you refer too? Once you go down the path of the dark side with a nade in hand, forever will it dominate your destiny....
While I have no problem with your kills, or your thread (some of the mostly llav are cheap (not yours I know)) my problem shows that the AR sometimes is just a little to effective, but this such that other weapons need a buff, before you loose it.
Also it shows a lot of people mindset based on cod of, whoever shoots first wins!!

How can you call anything OP or 'cheap' when you just posted a montage of using the most OP and cheap weapon in the game, the grenade.. really, a MD takes more skill. I've already made a thread about it, the nades are currenly OP. Hit detection might balance it out. MD does not take more skill, I've used it over a hundred hours. No matter what you say, I'm fairly sure my nade game is among the very best in Dust. The montage, like it or not, I merely hope that it was entertaining and fun to watch. The editing isn't bad... The vid was not supposed to be a linked to this thread, merely a sig. Right.. cus landing 5 shots in 5 seconds with MD is easier than cooking a grenade for 3 and throwing it at an unsuspecting target... I just did an ambush that looked like your whole montage, standing on a hive. really not that hard. You need 5 MD shots for what?
Anything with about 350 shields, the MD isn't a cheap weapon, it is designed to be relatively easy to pick up, but this comes at the cost of a high dps, lack of ammo etc, etc. Some players use it to improve there aim, some because it fits there style.
The only possible tweak would be to increase the feedback damage radius, so the enemy has 5m from blast to take damage but the user could 7m and still take damage, this could be modded for each type but would discourage cqc spam!! |

No hate hear, do you just snipe for sake of sniping or to support a squad or cover a killzone/objective, if its just cause you like sniping people then maybe a little hate!! |

Try using the MD a bit more the gravity mechanics are very similar, once you can get an MD slug at someone's feet, you can do the same with a grenade! We MD users do it all the time with fluxes! |
