I'm curious as to what other corps are doing and why the devs felt the need to tax both eve and dusties the same rate? What many of our Dust corp members make in isk we often break even or come out ahead in hard fought battles where we loose many proto suits. We had a standard tax where we each donated a million a week, but now people want to implement the new % tax coming in 1.4. Is there a cap on this tax? Why should I pay more in taxes because I play more? Those who play more now have pay more. I now have to play with my friends is what I ask our leadership? It has left our corp devided and many of us plan to walk away from the game. Our Eve players are now taxed at 10% and if our Dusties are asked to pay the same rate 10% we will be broke all the time. We will not be self reliant and will constantly need the corps to reimburse us or be forced to play in our blueprint suits and expect to slaughtered on the battlefield. Everyone was happy with our 1 million dollar a week donation, everyone paid the same amount. Now some of us will be paying over 2 million while others who play just to cap may pay less than 1 million. Does this mean my corps should now pay me back more since I'm paying more? I believe it does.
So I ask the Devs, Why set one tax rate for a corp where Eve currency and Dust Currency are not yet the same? It's like apples and oranges. Euro's to American Dollars. I think there should have been a setting for 2 different tax rates before this was released. A 10% tax on an Eve Player currency is not the same as 10% tax on a Dust Player. It will break some of us. And many of us feel that a flat Tax on Dusties would be more fair.
I'm also curious as to how other corps are handling these new upcoming changes? I was perfectly content with a flat tax, now because I may have to pay more in a tax because I play more, I may just walk away from the game. Others in this corp feel the same way. So how do other corps plan to address this % tax? |

I agree, but then how will our corp leader know how to tax the Eve players? He tells me 10% on Eve players is a fair rate. I have no idea as I'm just a Dusty who gets shot in the head a lot. Our corp leader also says he needs a % on Eve players as it is more difficult for him to determine a flat rate for them.

Currently I work from home and can easily play over 200 games a week so even at a modest 5% or 10% rate, I and others who do well will be at a large disadvantage because with no cap we will be paying more than the others who cap at 50 games. Skill book reimbursement will be pennies compared to the millions we pay while others who play and do less well only pay thousands |

I easily play over 200 games a week Also it's not just about me, what about less skilled corp mates who barely break even? |

I'd like to see you use a BPO against a proto. Or how bout your whole team in a BPO against a team of proto's for a whole week. watch your kdr's and win loss ratio plumit. Especially these next 2 weeks w/ people going for the challenge winning 21/50 games |

You're not the solution, you're part of the problem. Stop tunnelvisioning on your stats and worry more about your balance sheet in your wallet.
You must not have proto gear then. Why would the game offer it if they didn't want me to use it. When my own corps taxing me more than I could afford to replunish it thats when I have a problem. besides you're just trolling. read my original posts and answer the sentences that end with ? marks if you have a solution. we all know everyone likes to see their corps stats on the leader boards |

I realise Eve and Dust play in the same sandbox, but I still don't think I disagree that both games should be held accountable for the same tax rate. Eve is Eve and Dust is Dust, why tax both games at the same rate, if many feel each game should be set at different rates and taxed seperately. Anyone else feel this way? |

I also like this idea, it seems very reasonable. Its a bit inconvienent to split corps but it would solve the problem. |

TechMechMeds wrote:Im going to be totally honest, this thread is a complete joke You appear to not understand at all, its all relative.
I pay taxes in real life. I don't mind making a donation to the corp that is my choice. I make a donation every week. I don't come on to play a free game only to pay out what I earn without a choice. the idea that you think games should be like real life is the complete joke. I play to escape and have fun, not to live a second life |

TechMechMeds wrote:Major lol at this thread, the 10% tax is good, all the tax goes to the corp wallet, the 10% tax is relative to what you earn per transaction of net profit. Again I'll reiterate, it's relative eg you earn 200k a match then 10% goes to corp which is 20k.
Multiply 20K times the 200 games I play a week = 4 million a week right now we are asked to pay 1 million in a flat tax and I pay that
Someone else who makes 20K but caps at 60 games =1.2 million a week
Why should I pay more because I play more? I have to pay more to play w/ my friends more. It's not just about paying a tax its about the equality of what I pay compared to others. |

Obviously letting my members know that we are at war, and taxation will be considerably higher.
Combining this with separating the Eve and Dust corps would be a good solution also. I can't help but to feel a flat tax is still better than a % tax. |
