If you're not moving or scoring any WP at all at least every 2-3 minutes, you deserve to be kicked from the match and I'd rather you not be dragging my team down any more than you already have by joining it. |

I've been hunting down hiding spots outside of the redline that are both walled off to the entire enemy redline and outside of my own for the past few days.
Of course, if the game were more fun, I'd be less inclined to hunt these spots down and actually play the game the way it was meant to be played. |

Or use rubber bands. One could rubber band the left stick to spin and the fire button so you are always shooting. Now just stand next to the supply depot and you're done. |

I still doubt that will be enough to count as a PVP action. CCP have said it's pretty rubberband proof, so that likely means you'll have to either be gaining WP or at least be outside the redzone, where you can be hunted down and killed by the enemy. |

My guesses are the following are considered "PVP Action":
(a) Shooting at someone/Getting shot at
(b) Reviving/triage/resupplying teammates
(c) Hacking objectives/anything
(d) Teammates spawning on your uplinks/MCRU
If someone found a way to still be AFK effectively despite this, I'd be surprised. At least with the new system AFKing won't be as rampant as before. If you actually want to play the game, play. Stop crying because you "don't feel like doing anything sometimes." If that's the case, go do something you do feel like doing.  |

The people on these forums use no brains. Obviously if you're participating you're doing something. It's for people just "standing around" and also "not performing actions". I'm also certain that they've added in many cases that are AFK-like that will be booted. So repping in your tank, or flying around our dropship are obviously not those cases...

What counts as a PvP action is worth discussing. Judging by CCP's balance track record for this game we can expect this to go horribly wrong and have to suffer for over a moth while they get around to redoing this.
The target is people just loading into a match and walking away, doing chores or whatever. If the game tracks more than just whether a character is idle (to counter a rubber band joystick or macro keyboard) things can go wrong.
The risk is that other players will be incorrectly targeted. Dropship pilots are a good example. What happens if a team gets redlined and can't do anything? What if you are a new player trying to learn to snipe and are horrible at it?
Without knowing how the game will track who gets kicked we have no idea what problems might occur. |

Geez... If you keep telling CCP that they're **** and will get things wrong anyway, that's exactly what they are going to do. Whether you think it's justified or not, the best thing you can do is have some faith.
If I'd be designing a system like that, I would define "PVP action" as any of the following:
- Taking damage by an enemy.
- Dealing damage to an enemy.
- Being targeted/spotted by an enemy.
- Targeting/spotting an enemy.
- Hacking
These would be the "baseline" that would ensure that you pretty much have to be in the game to not be considered AFK, it would be very hard to work around with macros, and it's very unlikely that there is any valid playstyle which doesn't include any of those actions at least every once in a while. If you are hiding with a dropship where nobody ever sees you, just to provide a spawnpoint, then maybe you should be booted, yes...
This is not rocket science and there are many other ways that would work just as well. I believe that it would be harder for CCP to screw this up than to get it right. |

One easy thing is probably a timeout for sitting around in the MCC. I'm not sure if they'll get too bold about people sitting around on the battlefield. Rightly so I believe, since they can still get killed at least, unlike those floating up in the ship. |
