Y'know if DUST didn't exist, and EVE didn't exist, and CCP didn't exist, i would prolly be raving over Planetside 2. Objectively i have to admire what they've accomplished, and they're not done yet.
And there's no arguing that at this moment, many of the mechanics in PS2 are superior to what we have in DUST. My expectation is CCP will address these technical coding and design issues. I think there's evidence that they're doing that right now - we'll know soon.
But here's the thing.
CPP is at heart a universe-building virtual reality company. This was true long before EVR, and long before Kickstarter.
That driving vision has not faded, and if i had to bet i'd say the pulse rate at CCP is elevated these days because there is finally the possibility of CCP achieving their original vision.
My inference is that original vision is the creation of a virtual universe accessible through a VR interface. I think we here in DUST will end up playing a historical role in that process, we will be the spark that galvanizes New Eden into consciousness.
The creation of the first virtual universe. That's what we're doing here in DUST. You can play the game on any level you want to, from basic grunt to ruler of the universe, but that's what you're a part of.
Now what is PS 2 in relation to DUST?
PS 2 is a good game. End of story, and end of its contribution to history. |

Planet Side two may or may not be shrinking (WoW had server mergers while it was still growing) but even if it is it is still 5 times bigger then Dust....and it is a PC game not yet out on the console.
You wont see fan boys there telling everyone that Planet Side two is a niche game so it is OK that it scares away new players and is small.

Planet side came out in may of 2003.
It has more then 10 years and has always been growing.

you know that is one of my favorite songs so i did enjoy the video and thought the song went along nicely.
but alas Dust has not yet reached that level of awesomeness for now a song that fits its current gameplay is more like
Cities in dust by the Everlove (also one of my favorite songs)

also the video is incorrect that song is called "Radioactive" not welcome to the new age |

well i suppose your right although i do find it necessary to state the name of a song used in any given way
because in scenarios like this one i am often left liking the song used then wondering whats that songs called
i then have to go to great lengths to find out what it is called.
