Today my shield tank got attacked by a forgegunner, I had no clue where it was coming from and i asked my squad sniper to point him out be he found nothing.... after a minute of repping back shield I i exited my hiding spot only to be hit with a powerful forge right away... as i looked, i saw a red triangle thing and shot at it. Nothing was under the triangle but a few seconds later got a kill. |

This would probably better in Technical Support/Bugs or even Feedback.
However this is a known side affect of CCP/Shanghai increasing the very pretty art assets. With the grass growing as you walk along, so life like, sufficient GPU power was no longer available to show you the game play itself. Which includes many things at a distance. Tanks, their Gunners and Turret Installations get the most extreme benefit. Probably because our Tanks are so, so very pretty now.
AKA Draw Distance Optimization shortened the distance that objects would be drawn, this included the trails for swarms and forges. Plus it puts their operators into the invisible land as well. That adds a little mystery to the game.
But the growing grass Is pretty. Pretty stupid and distracting personally but to each their own. |

aparently this is working as intended.
in the 1.4 patch notes they state that they fixed a bug with vehicles being unable to render things the "proper" distance at certain angles.
butt he fact remains we are unable to render things the FULL distance at any angle.
this means that "proper" view distance is not in fact the full range of the weapon.
aka its all working as intended.
forge gunners are SUPPOSED to be invisable |

Well, at least I can sue the "growing grass" for tons of isk due to the fact that I can't even see swarms nailing my tank because of their invisibility after a certain rendering distance.
But seriously, reduce the rendering distance for everyone to about 50 meters, and then add some vegetables to the ground as well. |

this issue doesnt get nearly enough attention
and it doesnt matter what they do witht he vehicle rebalance if they dont fix the rendering problems it will all be worthless.
currently the biggest imbalance with vehicles is a faulty rendering and it imbalances things in such an extreme way that it literally doesnt matter what you do with any of the numbers or any other piece of gameplay as long as the rendering problems exsist vehicles will always be ireelevent |

Proto Assault Forge Guns will do that. Check the base damages, add 9% for lvl 3 Prof and a heavy Damage mod for another 10% and 1800 is about right. Not to mention the 2.5 second charge time can be reduced with SP. Shield tanks pop quick.
Gift them the ability to do it at 299m (maximum for all Forge Guns after their Nerf) and from behind, you will never see them as they will never be drawn nor will the trail of the rounds. Which is one reason that the Top Gunner in a Tank needs to spend most of their time looking behind and to the sides or lose their ride. |
