Will we ever have an option to have an open world game mode, maybe drive walk fly around, have some wastelands where your allowed to kill anything or some drone infested area you and some friends can attack, or a spot where you and your squad get instanced into some pve (when we have pve) maybe bounties that we can retreive

DUST would be the best console game hands down if it were open world. Of course a long with many balance issue fixes and many new features and mechanics. |

Also, instanced PVE != open world. I think instanced PVE would fit in with the current game, changing the game to open world would not. |

Changing the game to "open world" like Eve would fit in with the current game by bringing it in line with a New Eden precedent.
Granted, as I have had it explained to me, Eve is more of a free-roam "shared instance", though that doesn't change the fact that it feels a whole lot more open world than a lobby shooter. |

Still, I'd love to see those entire Districts be open battlefields.
And I'm not talking about the 5x5 maps. I'm talking about the areas the size of Australia that those things comprise that I can see from orbit. |
