High-SP infantry have crazy amounts of health compared to those without investment. 650-900hp versus around 350-500hp. They'll have Proficiency damage boosts to boot. Faster regen, lower downtime... their advantage is massive against someone that's mostly in vehicles.
But if you want lower-SP solutions to fight them on foot then I'd go Proficiency II in Scrambler Pistols with Handheld Weaponry V. Can be a great equaliser at around 1.5 mil SP, dual ScPs with at least one Complex Damage gives you the short range firepower to directly compete with full-protos so long as they don't get the drop on you. Cheap and incredibly powerful glass cannon. |

Same company different studios, one has near perfected the player feedback process, the other is still rolling on the floor after it fell over its first baby step. I'm gonna quote this jason. how about the guy that pops all his SP in AV. But doesn't have enough for a decent smg? You don't How see how HAV AND SL users share the same similarities? With some gun game, BOTH THE HAV AND SL are just ducks that wonder in on the wrong season. Mate, mate. I went all-in on AV initially. It was 300k SP to get my Scrambler Pistol to a decent level, 800k SP to make it great. My core infantry skills also help me whenever I'm doing anything that's not AV... nor can I be comprehensively locked out of playing any infantry role in a given match.
Our situation is *far* better than theirs. |

My core infantry skills also help me whenever I'm doing anything that's not AV... nor can I be comprehensively locked out of playing any infantry role in a given match. Our situation is *far* better than theirs. MY AV SUIT IS A SCOUT. My side arm are is ISH. My survivability depends on how many are near the hav, and how fast I can run to restock. But I survive more than half of 1vs1. AR or SHOTTY. Add 2 players there and I'm probably dead. But it's not about hav users going infantry, it's about them being able to survive to make it to the red line, call another hav. that takes some sort of gun skill. NO EXCUSE IN A FPS NOT TO HAVE IT. That Level V in SMGs is always going to help you, in your primary (?) role as AV or in your secondary roles with other loadouts.
For a vehicle user it would not help unless they're outside of their primary role... it's also SP that only comes into play if the entirety of their SP investment from their primary is not currently helping them. How that actually plays out is pretty major.
You talk up gun game which, yes, is important. Know what else is important? Whether that guy has almost double your health and 25% more damage output. For a vehicle user this is an entirely credible scenario.
I'd actually be somewhat in favour of unifying Infantry and Vehicle Shield/Armor Upgrades, Electronics, Engineering and so forth... make it so vehicle operators aren't left completely behind when they're not piloting. |
