Over these past few days. I have noticed my ability to track targets (aim) drop even lower than normal ( esp in PC matches). It may be due to my active chat is now way more active, but im not sure. either way im hitting like 5 of 60 with my AR if the player is changing direction Im no expert, but it feels like low frames per second may be a factor here. Feels as if the delay from my mouse movement to actual crosshair movement has increased even more so than normal. Would uninstalling and reinstalling help? |

I'm sure you already fixed your problem, but yes, I have noticed that I have to delete and reinstall every once in a while. I've done it twice now since I started in January. Last night was the worst I have ever lagged and glitched. Four PC/Tourney matches in a row. Disappearing grenades, shots not registering, mic bugs, not being able to respawn, the whole nine yards. Deleted and reinstalled, now all is well again. |

This may be a stupid question, but is there a preferred way to delete? An uninstall if you will? I tried the defrag and it did not help. |

That's a good question. I'm not sure if there is a "proper" way. For both game uninstalls, I just deleted the game, rebooted the system, and then re-downloaded and installed Dust. In between my two deletes I backed up and did a complete system wipe and restore. Rebooting my router every now and then seems to help as well. FFIW, I know that when Uprising was first being released, a couple Dev's posted on the forums that they were wiping their systems and installing SSD's. |

I just wanted to point out, anyone in the UK especially on a BT network (Most of the UK) its better to leave your router and not to reset it.
It does help to reset if you are having major problems but this is what I was told by an engineer from BT the other day:
In the UK if you reset your router connection, the local exchange thinks your line is not stable enough so adjusts bandwidth and your connection speeds. Now it will always correct over time but if you find you are resetting regularly this could have adverse affects.
Other than that it seems strange that would have to delete and reinstall. I have noticed recently my game has been laggy I might try that myself.
Alternatively you can adjust the game settings.... yea I know running stuff on "low" just seems wrong in 2013. |

Some players I have noticed don't realize that there is a problem with fragmentation, when you have mutliple versions of the game installed, meaning that you have a file size larger than 2667mb. I know some people that let their dust file size get to over 10GB...what this does is put files in multiple sections of the HDD versus someone who has all the files in one sector. This is partly ccp's fault as they just seem to not remove the previous files during a patch or from an event.
I delete the Game Saved Data Utility File first, then Dust. Then I run safe mode options that do not disturb my account information, it mostly just deletes the saved information from watching blu-ray movies. Open up the web browser after and delete the cache. Restart. Install Fresh Copy of Dust. Quit Dust. Open up the web browser again and delete the cache again.
A tip would be to delete all the mail in dust and from your xmb. You may want to sync your trophy information at some point during the process, but then again you may want to get all Tom Sawyer on it and just remember to swing a dead cat by the tail counter clock wise under a full moon to get this game to work right regularly. |
