Umm no? The daily bonus will get people to log in then log out like a job.
All that programming effort could have been used to develop some form of bonus that COMES FROM PLAYING THE GAME. Example: In game achievements: +100 SP for hacking 5 objectives in a match, +100 SP for each 3-killstreak, hell, anything but more passive stupidity. |

Yes some people will just log in and out, but others will play a few matches, sort of a 'well while I'm here...' thing. And every time achievements and the like have been brought up they have been shot down with the exact same argument. FORCING PEOPLE TO PLAY THE GAME CERTAIN WAYS IS BAD M'KAY.
F'ing seriously? As in forcing them to not AFK is a bad thing? That is just insane.
Achievements are a tried and true, tested psychological mechanism in like just about every modern game. Just because some EVEtard cries about it isn't a reason to not use them. |

I dont think the active player base is even over 20k players, on another note im going to loging each of my alts each day for that sweet weekly bonus of 31,500 SP You're suggesting that these 20k players play for 4-5 hours a day, every day, in perfect shifts with no overlap. No, I'm reasonably certain that isn't the case.
For most online games I have seen the multiplier can be as low as 10x or as high as 20-25x. Dust's true active player numbers could be anywhere between 30k and 125k which is quite a spread. Only CCP really know. |
