Apparently. Humans lost the ability to lie on their bellies when the EVE gate collapsed.

I would love it if we could prone, but only with an animation as well as it taking time, no instant down and back up.

I've felt this way since the first time it was brought up.

Prone should be included though only in a way that turns "dolphin diving" into 'laying down to die".

Going prone, even somewhat slowly (dependent on the gravitational forces on the planet we are fighting on) is a great idea, as it will allow us to more appropriately use the micro terrain, and will certainly add a whole new dimension to the game.

Why can we not go prone? It would reduce a snipers mobility so it's risk v reward. Just think. A sniper goes prone and starts shooting away. A scout sneaks up and kills him before he can even stand up.

And we can already kill most snippers before they turn around (except silly redline kittens).

It holds no purpose in this game, and the only "mechanic" I can see coming out of it is people exploiting and going prone underneath installations and sniping through pinholes that they normally wouldn't be able to. Nope.jpg

I like the idea solely because it doesn't make any sense to not be able to go prone, reality-check-wise.

I dislike the idea because it would make snipers even harder to kill. I'm also a sniper, so I guess I know what I'm talking about. It's not just snipers on rooftops, there are several other sniper spots that gives you excellent FOV over the battlefield and even now it's very difficult to get counter-sniped from those spots. Going prone would make you nearly untouchable.

Prone would make sense to have. There's a lot of micro terrain that I cannot utilize because I can't go prone. Of course snipers will be harder to see, but ill be able to hide from them easier.

I mean, it's like no one even considers making you unable to fire for a little bit after you land on the ground.

And then having an animation for standing back up again.

Besides, if you fix the head-glitching thing that snipers do, this would allow them to still reduce their profile while also remaining possible to hit.

So what, what? Foliage is concealment at best. Fortunately all the maps there is plenty of micro-terrain to take advantage of, and the micro-terrain provides cover, not just concealment.
