Until there's something akin to free roam a la Mass Effect 1, it doesn't really matter how many planets we have. They're all just the same terrain with a different color dirt. We have a long way to go before Dust achieves that level of openness we all want.

Dust - more planned maps and current maps then destiny Destiny - also a game only popular for ptential, as it is NOT OUT YET, being made a a popular company with a good track record. as far as open world, we will have to see how things play out with PVE on dust and how future updates expand the game. Destiny, again, we shall see. guess what.....CCP is also making a game unlike the ones they have made before, and they also have a stellar track record in the game industry.

However, there's actually a shitload, with randomized elements. Given the size of the warzones in Dust (I believe there are 3 at the moment- some maps share warzones with each other), there will be enough sockets for a LOT of unique districts.
