how about us tankers? we have been dealing with lock on swarms for a year without any kind of countermeasures and all we hear is HTFU. Looks like now there is something that can kill infantry whether or not the guy can aim and all i see are sweet sweet tears.

I think MDs are registering direct hits more often than they should, and it gives the perception that they are OP because they are doing twice the damage they should.
Either that or they are registering multiple splash hits from the same shot. It should be impossible for me to lose 200 shields per shot to a freedom MD yet its happening constantly to me. I know my logi is slow but there is no way every single MD shot is hitting me for direct damage.
Headshot multiplier prehaps? True massholes trick shot of terrain for extra damage, its given a multiplier based on the first posistion the blast hits on the body!! |

It's listed as 120ish splash damage for the freedom MD, its mathematically impossible for it to do 160-180 per shot to my shields, yet i can watch about 30-40% of my 502 shields get knocked away per shot. 150 damage is full splash if it has proficiency and damage mods on... Something is wrong there. I'm almost positive its not applying its armor/shield bonuses correctly or its registering hits wrong, as either multiple hits or a single direct hit when it should be splash.
Freedom hits for 140 ish splash however there do seem to be inconsitant damage ive hit sheilds for near 65% of orginal dmg when it should be 80%, swings and roundabouts will likely be stealth fixed 1.4 |

With 2-3 damage mods and level 4 proficiency you would be looking at aroudn 160 splash or so. Then you are supposed to apply a 30% penalty vs shields. I don't think that penalty is applying in every case, I think Aeon Amadi has proven that is the case as well.
20% penelaty to shields 20% bonus to armour, they have a blog on it somewhere!! And 117 is lower than I remember my god the militia ar does that 4 rounds, damn I need to start putting damage mods on my suit!

Well ive had headshot sounds and headshot kill tally at end using nothing but splash. Thats MD ghetto shotgunners have it wrong aiming at feet only for splash on open levrl terrain |

Its been well proven that the dev blog is wrong in this case. Its still 135% to armor and (supposedly) 70% to shields.
Aye definitely needs fixing, that'll reduce the hate somewhat |

Aye definitely needs fixing, that'll reduce the hate somewhat Something like 70% shields and 105% armor would be more appropriate imo... but im a little jaded about flaylocks and MDs at this point.
I can understand bitterness to explosives in general but that damage profile is a bit unfair, besides additional armour, paired with fixed hit detection will mostly sweep this under the rug by october. |
