Give it bullet drop, projectiles that travel slower than instantly, and the possibility to jam every 120th round. Also, require weaponsmmaintenance every 5 minutes. Then it won't be OP. ANDDDDDDD it should overheat and explode in your face if you shoot it on the cyclic rate for more than 3 clips and 5 minutes. Also make barrel changes required. It also needs to be sighted in before every game and after every melee.
I want more realism. Let's start with the AR BC they sure love to ask for more realistic weapons a lot.
We should also make MDs like their IRL counterparts and have a 5m kill radius and 15m casualty radius with warheads that ohk lavs.
Then we have make anything that is ALMOST hit by q forge GUn, rail, or sniper die if it was within 1m of the projectile during flight, and of you are in the kill radius you get a serious concussion and can't stand or aim or hear or speak or see.
After that we can give the laser infinite range and of course, tanks get reactive armor that can only be penetrated by orbital strikes, or other tanks with compressed particle cannons with 2 damage mods and make their speed 100kmh. We can also make lavs go double that and make their blasters OHK everything that isn't a tank. |

Deal. Just make it so MD rounds have to travel a minimum of 1-3 meters before it explodes.
Breach is the exception. |

You know what? I've changed my mind. Keep the AR the way it is, but give niche weapons nerf immunity once they're all buffed up to compete with the AR in their specialty. Outsmarting these plasma hose toting knuckle draggers won't be the same if they don't have their hit-scan krutch. |

I honestly don't think CCP can nerf the AR anymore without making the AR useless....is already nearly there...Four AR variations, with three tiers, and only two of them are useful ;

The AR we have at the moment so it's a little unusual in how it's effecting the nature of infantry fights at the moment. When we get the rest of the assault rifles (Which I hope is soon!) the one we have now is a Gallente blaster based hybrid weapon. It's incredibly powerful but short range.
Yes... short range.
This is the short range assault rifle. The Caldari one will likely have the longest range but weakest damage and the Mini one will be the middle ground of all with the largest magazines. CCP actually said they hope it becomes the 'standard' rifle once it's out.
So we should wait for em all before we balance the regular pew pews too much. |
