It's that time again! This week we have a lot to cover, and I had a ton of fun going through all the content you've all been making! Please take a look at this post and let me know what you think! If you missed anything, or if I missed anything that should be archived here!
Awesome!
Development Blogs
Uprising 1.4 and Beyond! // Discuss this BlogUprising 1.3 saw important behind-the-scenes updates and bug fixes (as I am sure you all can see when in normal match-made battles), as well as the large-scale Planetary Conquest battles. But for the most part, the release focused on stability and performance. By contrast, Uprising 1.4 is more substantial with regard to user-facing game systems. Let's get into some of the improvements the dev teams have made in the latest release cycle.
Corporation Tax in Uprising 1.4 // Discuss this BlogToday we are going to talk about a new feature coming in Uprising 1.4 known as corporation tax. No, this is not CCP or some random other entity within New Eden charging your corporation a tax to exist. Corporation tax is a feature that allows corporations to tax their members whatever rate they wish. What corporations do with that ISK earned by taxing their members is up to the corporations. This tax will be deducted from the end of battle ISK rewards and deposited directly into your corporationGÇÖs wallet. Corporation tax rates will be identical for both EVE Online and DUST 514, so if you have members from both games in your corporation they will all be taxed the same.
Announcing the Kaimeras' Objective // Discuss this BlogWelcome once again, mercenaries. I hope you're ready to break out your dropsuits and step up to take on another challenge, this time with the Kameiras' Objective, running from August 22 to September 5! And as always, there are some awesome rewards for winning. We've consulted heavily with the Council of Planetary Management and listened to your feedback from previous events to determine our reward schedule for this event and we are hopeful you'll enjoy it! We have a variety of different rewards, but even if you don't normally use a specific piece, don't worry! You'll still be able to equip it even if you aren't skilled up for it.
Dev Posts CREST for Planetary Conquest CCP Nullarbor posts about a stealth update to give access to a new public CREST endpoint! We are looking forward to see what you guys do with this information! So be sure to check it out!
Quote:We are providing this as a beta test for people to start experimenting and building 3rd party applications or website with. There are a couple of caveats: - You do not need a license or any kind of authentication to use this data - We are making no gaurentees about its availability just yet, the API may even completely disappear if we find a problem with it - All the data is accurate within a minute, but that cache interval may get tweaked in the next few days - Our webserver supports gzip compression so you would be best to use that if possible as the resource can be heavily compressed - The structure of this data may change in the future but we will do our best to communicate the changes ahead of time - The links contained within this document will not work, we are only enabling the top level resource /districts/
Please tell us that scouts get some love in 1.4 CCP Wolfman gives the unfortunate news that Scouts will not be getting any updates in 1.4. But optimistically talks about 1.5-1.6 being the time of the scout!
Quote:We know the scouts need some love. We did not give them any in 1.4. Sorry about that but there's always more work than time. We are planning to give them hugs in 1.5/6. I can't be specific regarding time yet because there are some new features involved and we're not sure exactly where they will land yet.
Are there ever going to be any new game modes?CCP Foxfour swoops in to give an nice ambiguous answer to a pressing question!
Quote:yes but not telling you what :P

I'm not being funny, but please can you change the date format that you use to YYMMDD ? This is the ISO 8601 data format that can be understood internationally WITHOUT confusion.
https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/ISO_8601
It's a well known phenomenon that the USA are *unique* around the world for using MMDDYY, when the rest of the world uses either DDMMYY or YYMMDD
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Date_format_by_country
Please take heed, community team - you have an international audience and should ensure that you can be understood clearly by more than a single country. |

The dates are also on the forum post itself, in the format that you prefer, so no one should be confused. CCP Mintchip // Twitter - @CCP_Mintchip Dust 514 Community Rep |

I typically use DD-Month-YYYY so that way there is NEVER confusion as per US military regulations.
Also as for what america does I been taught dd/mm/yyyy, both my sisters been taught the same way and we all grew up in three different regions on the states. |

But when you're scanning through dev posts, you're just searching for post names, and you only see the date of the dev reply, not of the OP. So please change the date format. |
