It's been 3 months its time for ccp to start to scale up PC. Between lowsec and nullsec there is upwards of 250k districts possible to be put into place. PC has been a bigger success that ccp could have imagined at this point.
It's time to move forward.
So I am proposing a quarterly expansion of 10k districts to dust. This way players in dust and in eve can both plan ahead. How to do this is a much more difficult issue but there is time to plan properly for it.
At 10k districts a quarter (40k districts a year) it falls into line with the 5 year plan ccp has to finish dust.
Look like it or not PC is the only Jesus feature in dust and ccp better use it or lose it.
So hopefully foxy or null can give us a heads up on their plans for PC

Why increase?
No one wants MH or are prepared to fight for it
Look at it now, corps which cannot fight do not get, except planet fight club which should be burned tbh
Why should more be added? EoN would only end up taking most of it, and half the corps only want more space so they can click on a button to buy it and not actually have to fight for it |

player count be damned really. Per many eve nerds that have commented on districts its just the location. If you opened districts in better parts of space or in nullsec you will make eve nerds happy.
I mean really what else does dust have to offer? PC as of now is lame because eve nerds don't care about the districts. Worse than that is PC is just passive farming for dust players (isk is still bad motivation too)
plus at 10k districts eon cant even think to take them all. Beyond that it will allow everyone into PC.
I think it will also fall into line with ccp's idea that player skill should really have no effect on PC. |

So basically open everything up so everyone can have a piece of the pie and we all play farmville without attacking anyone because the pie is that ******* massive |

going from 250 to 10,000 districts... there would be no reason to fight... hell it was take ages to even buy and claim every district!
Would be interesting though, a large alliance can hold a couple thousand districts and rake in a cool trillion isk per day.
That would definitely rival EVE isk generation! |

I think moving to active farming is a must (something I didn't want to address really in this thread) and do away with passive farming.
I would think any system would show that its about activity so owning a district makes you zero isk. So there is no point for eon to own 1k districts if it cant actively farm them.

The issue is there is no way the current player base could support anything like these numbers of districts.
I completely agree that we need to move away from passive ISK generation, but I can't imagine how players could actively get resources out of 10,000 districts.
With the amount (almost none) and quality (bad orbital mechanics) of the Eve interaction right now I think you could open every temperate planet in the cluster and Eve still wouldn't care. |

If there are that many districts then what motivation is there for conflict?
Generally the idea with having a resource system in a fighting game is for having it be scarce so that in itself is a conflict driver. |

Well the way I see it we do need more districts so that way everyone can compete in PC idk about u but to get ur first district is expensive but well worth it to play PC or else ud never be able to get in on it and have some fun
but the huge lag I have in PC is really hurting how I play before we open up more, stable fights has to be a priority |

Why not kill a majority of the "generated" market and move to a more player-built economy. Instead of using space 'roids for ground pounder equipment, manufacturing takes place on planets with a new infrastructure such as extractors and manufacturing industry. This would drive the reason to own planets in dust and kill the passive ISK generation. |

So that requires so much more design and dev time. I'm just trying to push dust forward here. My big point is PC is the only thing in dust to do but it needs to be expanded. I mean really does anyone play pub matches and say "yeah i'm gonna give ccp money and play this instead of titan fall"? pubs are bad and no reason to even play them besides sp.
The player count is terrible for dust. All the big dreams ccp had are gone and dead right now. CCP needs to see if the current and super ****** design can scale or not. Better to learn now rather than later that is can scale or not |

So would you rather quickly push out PC and open it up everywhere and see if it works, which I think it would fail. I made this same post a while back and was pushing for it to open up as well. But looking at the numbers I have to agree the idea of having it open now it would take such a long time to actually see some real combat, yeah it could pontentially spawn some fights but still there really isn't anything in PC to give back to the Dust player except passive isk generation. All I'm getting at is build something that would give us a reason to fight other than random isk, and vendettas. So what if it takes dev time, I'd venture to say the time to dev my idea vs the time it would take to see any real open warfare in your idea would probably be close due to the sheer size of New Eden.
Plus there's always Faction Warfare they could start investing in, too. This would set dust apart.. |

You misunderstand when I say design and dev time I mean the effort involved in bring these game elements to dust. CCP has spent years and years with what we have now. We all know the slow rate of development with dust not to mention how poor most of dust has been. To even bring a player farmed resources & manufacturing to dust isn't something that can happen anytime soon regardless of how much it would improve dust. beyond that I don't think just adding new elements to dust has anything to do with the idea of just expanding PC |

Off the top of my head all I got is
- Each district has random resources that vary in rarity. - No passive isk or resource generation -Via very very tough pve players would kill baddies and receive resources -If there is no market for resources then players can turn in x,y,z resources to npc corps for isk or gear.

I'll just leave it at the high level for now but there are many ways to make this active. I think that should happen if we have 250 or 250k districts.
Side note: If a district is doing pve I think is should be only fair to allow baddies to raid the districts and if they win they get the isk/resources. This will make the meta game and spying have purpose |
