I have tried out a all the types of fitting. Assault? I can't survive on the battlefield. I die 5 mins after I spawn. -.- Im not that good as a heavy but... I am pretty comfortable with snipe and medic. Okay, what should IIspend my sp and isk on? Upgrades? Modules? Shoutout to all those whom replied to my previous post. Advices are humbly accepted but I just dont know what to spend my sp and isk on. Cheers! |

I'd wait a few days before throwing so in anything. We may get good news.
Also, what suit are you using right now? |

Invest into a racial logi / assault suit and a weapon of choice to AdV. then go for armour & shield upgrades and modules. (Survivability over DPS) Then start working on equipment and or weapon stuff, depending what role you want to fill on the field. |

It's all down to what you like most. In other shooters what roles have been the most fun? That's a starting point and from that you can branch out.
Three examples...
If you like shooting people in the face this is good advice. If you like support reverse it, go first for survivability and then get the weapon upgrades.
If you have the patience and want to pack as much into the cheapest fits possible go first for the survivability / expandability route. Build up the suits' CPU / PG / Shield / Armour skills and with that you can move on to putting more stuff into anything you finally settle on.

Wait for 1.4 to drop. Play extensively with all the militia stuff. Try new fits and new weapon combinations. Pick what you like. |

my sniper fit of choice as of now still the caldari assault.
solid shield, solid low slots, good cpu and pg, and a side arm slots for the close range engagements.

Medium.
Also, we have enough snipers. If you do go sniper please, please shoot the other snipers. Half my team was redline sniping in a match last night and I died to snipers way too much. |

I'd go with caldari medium or Gallente scout for sniping. Scouts are harder to find but the caldari medium suit is a good all round suit and can be useful in most situations.
Also Caldari get the most high slots which can fit DMG mods. I think that's what most snipers fit(sorry that I can help to much, I don't use sniper rifles) |

Alright guys! Thanks for the help. I kinda get the picture though. What makes this game interesting is that it is complicated. And DEEP. I like to learn more about this. I'm just a little bit lost on the suits and upgrades. Today let me be known as the noob that ask to much question, for someday, I may even own my own corp. See you guys on the battlefield. \m/ |

For sniping, I personally prefer the minmatar basic or assault suits. In comparison to the caldari: More CPU, more PG, an extra high slot(damage mods & shield extenders), inbuilt armour rep, faster, longer sprint duration. Having said this, it does have 1 less low slot, however, if you get the assault suit, the extra 25% sidearm ammo capacity comes in handy when someone sneaks up on you. |

Basic Proto cost a lot more than assault, plus assault gives you a bonus to Amarr weapons.
Going proto on any basic suit is a no no (minus the heavy).

I still have my Minmatar Medium and Light Basic Frame skills to 5 from when they were required to train the specialist suits. The Proto Medium Frame make nice sniper and swarm launcher suits. I don't usually go toe-to-toe in them so I don't lose that many.

Wait until patch notes tomorrow to see the dropsuit changes. May sway your decision based on the new bonuses. |

Except militia doesn't really give you a good idea of how the weapon/dropsuit will perform at proto (the only tier that really matters). |
