If I spec into Minmatar Logistics, do I get the armor repair and hacking bonus while wearing the Logistics M-1 Dren suit? Just started test driving the logi role and liking it. Wondering whether I should consider this BPO item when I decide which Logistics path to skill into. |

No I should consider this, or no I don't get the bonus? realize now that I should have written my post better. |

that would be awesome. It'd make farming ISK and sp easier. Still need to look at the different logi fits and see which one fits my style. I like the hacking bonus on the M-1, but the suit itself is quite weak compared to the CalLogi. I've read that the M-1 is more suited for a solitary hacker/bomber role rather than a medic/support role. The hacker bomber role sounds interesting, but I would still want to use my logi suit for medic/support in ambushes.

Militia suits are usually weaker than their basic counter part and I would ultimately level up M-1 to advanced or higher giving me at least +3 repair and 15% faster hacking on a BPO fit. Farming isk and sp would be noticably easier. on skirmish and A-OMS matches, I would use the freed up Low Power slot for a hacker module. With a basic hacker module, level 3 M-1, level 3 system hacking, I would have 40% faster hacking on a BPO suit.

The hacker bomber role sounds interesting, but I would still want to use my logi suit for medic/support in ambushes. The Minmatar Logi is meant for nothing but healing. It has wnough slots for a full suite of repair tools, and the hacking bonus is for you to hack while your teammates cover you. The CalLogi is meant to be a frontline healer or reviver, but people just abuse his shield bonuses for an Assault suit/use them as Assault cuz they protoed them during the 25% shield bonus times. Don't blame them completely, its CCPs fault too, but goddammit they give Logis a bad name. Gallente is for the bombs, with the reduction on equipment resources and the huge slot number they can afford to carry Uplinks, Remotes, Proxies, and Scanners. Amarr is supposed to be for frontline healer as it can restore its pwn armor at a decent rate. Would be nice if it had a bit more of that armor, but c'est la vie. Also, never EVER play a Logi alone, you will get your sad arse killed by an Assault/CalLogi moron.
Good tips. Thanks.
I've been using my AR with the M-1 suit. Seems like a scrambler rifle would be better if I am supposed to stay out of fights.
So far, I have found that I can use my AR effectively (1-2 KDR) with a strong team while still providing support. I like the logi role so far and am enjoying the BPO suit, but after spending my first 3 months in the game doing an assault character, I am not sure I want to move to a role that is supposed to stay out of action all the time.

I'm using a Amarr logi with a scrambler rifle as well and i agree that going from a assault is way different. I don't think I will specing I to a logi suit anytime soon. The play style is not fo r me.
May I suggest trying out a Dren Gallente scout with the dren shotgun? It is quite good IMO.
I've been thinking about giving the TAC AR a try. I've speced a fair bit into AR, so unlike the scrambler rifle, i wouldn't need to spec a bunch into it. I'm finding the regular AR isn't that bad. I need to get prototype shields tho so I can buff my shields more. Then I'm going to spec into speed and stamina modules so I can run between hiding spots faster to heal people.
Just bought the elite pack so have not tried all the suits and style yet. Right now I'm loving the logi role so I've been specing all my sp into relevant skills. At some point I am going to give the dren scout/shotgun combo a try, but probably not for a month or so.

I like the Tac AR on my Scout suit where I can switch to an SMG for close quarters. I prefer either an SMG or regular AR on my Logistics suits.
I saw my armor repaid increase too, so it's real. I won't know if the hack bonus is there until I have leveled into it enough, but I'm leveling into system hack at the same time, so might be hard to know for sure. |
