I think our current salvaging system is quite bland and boring. And for me, and I'm sure others, we hardly get any salvage at all. It's a matter of probability and luck. I believe this new salvaging system could increase the number of salvaging, provide a new and fun mechanic to salvaging, and making the concept more in-depth.
My proposal is to have players on the battlefield salvage dead clones and destroyed vehicles. You will first need a Salvager, where you can find in the marketplace. With the salvager you can have a chance of retrieving modules or weapons from a dropsuit/vehicle.
Salvaging can be a risky task, but can prove worthy. Salvaging takes time of course, so there may be a few second salvaging time. Once the time is complete, you'll be notified of what you collected. During salvaging you're easily vulnerable to damage so watch your back! Higher tiered salvagers can lessen the wait time and provide higher yields.
What about unique weapons you can find only through current salvaging? Would those go away with this system? Of course not! There could be randomly placed crates, or anything that can store weapons. You can salvage these and find unique weapons/modules/dropsuits.
This system will help give DUST that MMO aspect that it currently does not have. It'll provide a much more fun way of salvaging, and doesn't rely on luck, but skill. |

Until we can sell salvage i would prefer a boost in isk payouts. I have several vehicles from salvage that i have no use for and so much gear that is totally useless to me. |

Probably have some kind of implemented shrink ray. I'm not sure how it would 'store' it, if there is a maximum limit of how many things you can salvage then that could be okay. But once you salvage it, it'll directly go into your assets. |
