For everyone complaining about Forge Gun splash damage, think about this.
Forge guns fire massive shells that weigh approximately 1Kg and travel at 7000 m/s (15,600 mph). That shell has 9 times the kinetic energy of a 7.5 tonne truck travelling at 60 mph...
The shock wave created from that impacting the ground would be more than enough to damage anyone standing close enough to it. |

doesn't a shock wave push you back, not damage you though? |

To be perfectly honest I'm starting to think the splash radius is perfectly fine, maybe lower splash damage just a hair, and make the actual projectile smaller so that way it's harder to land direct hits on mobile targets.
Void Echo wrote:doesn't a shock wave push you back, not damage you though? As a compromise to splash damage I've suggested a knockback effect, as it seems to provide a reasonable middle ground. I don't know how necessary / easy to program that would be though. |

rails are bigger and more powerful, of course there going to kill anything within 2 meters of the hitpoint. also, its ectrically charged, so im guessing that the electric current is what kills you if get hit by its splash damage. |

Sorry, I should have been more precise. I didn't actually mean the splash, which is fine, but more like the speed. |

What's the scientific justification for a laserbeam only being hot after it's travelled 60m?
Let's be real, or rather, let's not. This isn't hard sci-fi whatever that even means. It's gameplay and established thematics first, realism a very distant second. |

look at rail guns in real life, they have prototypes that travel vast distances in a short time, its electrically charged and NOT fired by gun powder, combustion ignition has les power than electrical ignition. |

Indeed, Railgun ammunition speed is MUCH faster than normal firearm bullet speed... and what is it like in this game? 200mph travel speed for Railgun ammo, am I rite? |

I think the shells weighing 1Kg is a bit absurd, supersoldier-heavy or not.
7k m/s is in the flavor text, but does the projectile actually travel that fast in-game? It seems a about half that. |
