Like the subject says, what is stronger Shield or Armor.
I often Snipe 3/4 of the shield away, on the first shot, then the rest of shield and armor on the second shot.
Just wondering, many times, the shield seams more resistant then the armor.
I know some weapons do more damage on the shield, vs some others on the armor, and the hybrid, does equal damage, if I am not mistaking.
All my load-out have more armor then Shield, and I seam to die pretty quickly.

They are different play styles really. One thing to keep in mind is:
Armor relies heavily on external healing sources (hives and rep tools)
Shield users have much more freedom of movement as they do not have to worry about external healing, as shields regenerate quickly over time.
I run a core focused rep tool in PC and try to stick near the big objectives healing up the big armor tankers, I think(hope?) its making a difference. Its nice when you can fully heal a heavy in ~5s.
Now that I have the core focused rep tool, I'm starting to think rep tools need a massive buff. In PC you just don't have the time to heal at 44 hp/s, rep tools need increased rep rate and an overheat mechanic. |

Shield tankers are faster, have way better resistances, and don't need any support to recover, so they still are superior even with the update coming up. |

See this blog for each weapon's damage profile. Hybrid weapons do about 20% more damage to armor then shield. Then also, right now most medium suits, because so people are Caldari, will have more shield than armor. So you are probably hitting more shield HP anyway. If someone has 500 shield and 200 armor, shield will naturally 'look harder' to break on them. |

This comment is wrong in so many levels. Now on the OPs post, the sniper rifle does 90% damage to shields and 110% to armor so its not truly hybrid. |

Is there a quick and easy of determining what type of weapon each one is? What constitutes a "hybrid" weapon? |

Sniper rifles take a 10% damage penalty vs shields, and get a 10% damage buff against armor. This may account for some (not all) of the difference. |

Currently Shields are leagues better than armor anyday. I COULD flux your guy, then finish him with my gun.... or i can just throw a Locus and kill you with a single blast. See the linked thread for the logic as to why.

Heres how it works. The more sheild hp you have the better your armor hp is protected. No matter what sheilds regen. Some people dont play with armor regen so in that case sheilds are very important.
But armor has way more hp and generally more slots.
But suits with 4 high slots can slap 4 damage mods on and murder anytging without being penalized in the mobility department. Also racial bonuses have to be weighed. Some suits sheild tanking is stupid.
Ultimately its about preference. If you suck 10k sheilds wont save you. and no matter how good you are if you have 5 low armor slots and fill them with complex armor plates you are an easy target.
