Who are you again? Why do CCP need to give you anything more than the product you play for free?
Ooookay. Let's look at this - They promised more, they also lied, the only thing to keep a lot of people coming back is the fact that you have to make new accounts to avoid forum bannmanship, so...Yeah.
Basically, they lied, take off the Fanboy goggles and see why people are angry, it was a waste of time, talent and resources.
They need to give more because the promised more. They advertised more, so far we don't have ANY of the stuff they advertised. |

CCP promised us the earth yeah, and it's not there yet, I give you that. But no one is forcing you to sit here, log in every day and play 23/7 either. You've not paid a subscription fee, you've not bought the game either. You can walk away whenever. You can come back whenever, too. If you've sank money into Aurum, it'll always be there and the account won't get purged. Just put the controller down and go play something else for a few months. Come back when the features you want are in. The game ain't going anywhere and CCP have posted their Fiscal Earnings for the least year on their website. Go take a look, DUST is doing fine from just the money EVE generates for them, let alone Aurum sales. Yeah we all want more stuff. I personally can't wait for the M-TACs or whatever the mech suits are called. I want em now. I want bigger maps, PvE and a stronger link between EVE and this... but it ain't here yet, and when that bums me out I do the only sane thing I can thing of and go and play something else for a while. Trust me, CCP very much _WANT_ to deliver on all their promises. I don't think it's fanboy-ish to assume that, nor do I think it's hatefilled to say they certainly under delivered. But most people have nothing more than a time investment in DUST. And that investment keeps adding up even when they put the game down for months at a time. So if you ain't happy with DUST right now, say why, give a bit of feedback and then go play The Last of Us for a bit. Some TF2. I hear Borderlands is pretty good. Dust will still be there when you want to come back.
Well, this isn't to say I don't think it'll ever get there, it's just...Strange that a lot of the things that were tested (Closed Beta) were ignored and we have Alpha level problems again. Personally I don't feel bad who threw Aurum at the game (Why would you do that, for a game you don't enjoy?) It was their wallet and no one forced them to do that, but the thing that really bothers me is that 88 days from now the PS4 is hitting shelves and this still isn't even a game that can stand on its own without 'Potential' being mentioned in every sentence. The next-gen is just a little too close for "Trial and Error" testing.
1 month = 30 days 88 days = 3 months (Rounded up for ease)
They have 3 months. Three of these vaunted updates (Like my Star Wars vocab? Vaunted ) To get this under control, and that's not to claim everyone will leave on the day the PS4 launches it's just gonna kinda suck a little of the population bit by bit, as people get it for x-mas, and then the price dips, and people get it for birthdays and the price dips a little more, and this isn't even considering the people who are getting the XB1 or people like myself who are getting a PC (It's almost done!)
tl;dr - I really want success for DUST but a slowly crumbling population would make that difficult. Also a lesson - GTA 5 won't suck away the population, but it and things like it (PS4/XB1/PC) will cause it to slowly shy away as it became more affordable and obtainable. |

Their game and free would you you complain if someone gave you free regular grade gasoline but not premium seriously its free The only thing you've lost is the time you spend plsying this free game
But the game isn't what was promised. If that person didn't PROMISE free premium, and just gave me free regular, then I wouldn't complain, but if they promised more than what they delivered you'd best believe I'd look at them sideways. You shouldn't advertise what you can't follow up on and something being free isn't an excuse for lying to your possible customers, especially not when you have a reputation to defend, like all corporations do. |
