this think is dedicated to "HEADY MURPHY" of the F**K EON Coalition.
battle academy think. new players should be kept in the academy as long as they are in there first npc corp until 2million sp. player corperations should be able to place recruitment adds such as eve. new players need to be given the chance to see everything DUST 514 has to offer and being stuck in an npc corp with more random noobs is the worst thing that can happen to a new player.
How to advertise you ask? by finaly putting that blasted tv to some use. in eve it scrolls through bounty list, shows players that have used a PLEX, shows new market placements. all sort of things. so why have all that when I spend about .0001 of my time in my room. and only have the marketplace front and a few repeting slides in our merc rooms dust side when we spend 20-50% of our time in there.
What would this solve you ask? New players enter this game every day and are thrown into there first battle immediately. ok so now they can taste first blood as a merc. but what happens after that battle? they come back to this new room with a huge tv, a couch, a little tank and pad on the table and a few other screens. ok seems simple enough. but there is one problem. they have no one to talk to. they look in local chat, its delayed so no names pop up. they look in corp chat, what ever that is they think. 95% of them are AFK, 4.9% of them are in the same boat as you and .1% of them actually know what is going on and has moved to squad chat. this game is about the corporation. without a team to back you up, you will get no where. yes you can solo it but unless you can figure out a perfect fit on your own and what to skill into from never seeing the game and its vast skills you will fail.
Summary: mercs are kept in battle academy until they leave there first npc corp. or they have reached 2,000,000 sp Player corps are able to buy adds. price of add should be based on player count in corp. new players can see adds by clicking on the left or right tv screens. adds should be visually appealing to catch players attention as well as give player count and other info of the corp. |
