It's bother me how easy is to lock HAV with SL. All that SL dude have to do is to hold R1 when square pops out, he don't have to see even whole HAV, but just 1/3 of it to lock him.
From HAV pilot perspective that have problems with fitting decent tank on Madrugar with adv. turret, and he is force to use STR type - it's hard to kill Infantry guy before he manage lock me, usually I can kill him after he launch first wave, if he remains 'on open'(usually it takes 4-5 shots from STR Scattered Blaster in optimal to put down pro-SL). I know that we have now problems with damage registration(sometimes I can hear sounds of hitting someones shield but target is 100% health), and HAV get another silent nerf with strafing speed..
I think that locking should be more(not difficult, but) challenging - because right now AV Infantry can perform all kind of stuff while locking someone(jumping, strafing etc.), and person being lock need to focus 100% attention on that guy.
Change locking system so instead of locking HAV as whole, SL need to focus on practical part of HAV that he want to attack: hull(back, front), tracks, gun, turret... each part should have it's own % factor, and in this case if SL want tasty volley he need to work for it with his actual "skill" at focusing on practical part of HAV for X amount of time. It would work like making lock box smaller than now, but with giving attacker more options with he can perform. |

It's too easy to break lock with LAV because they are faster than HAV, and they hide behind an obstacle. Me locking idea will remove SL 'Rambo' aspects and will give them chance to deal more damage - right now weak part is at HAV back, below turret - in future they may have weak spots all over the plays, but shooting them will require skill.
edit: smaller vehicle could have bigger and smaller amount of points to target.

HAV already have weak spot, experienced pilots are aware of it and they protect it, for example by running from the site backward(from to the enemy). I think that if someone is fighting on his terms he is allow to deal max dmg.

I suggest that different vehicles should have a covered transponder to increase the time of interrogation. That EVE thing - different vehicles have different signatures with equals in locking speed, the bigger target it the faster it's gone be lock(beside that you can use locking-speed modules to prevent fast lock or to speed up your's). Heatseek missile mechanic could not work as we know it in New Eden - some vehicles may be created base on combustion engines, but electricians, beside they may have filters, heat shield that prevent getting out the heat or cooling it out before release to environment. |
