I suggest, when you ram someone with a vehicle the vehicle takes as much damage as the player lost, divided by 2.
It doesn't make since that a person covered in a big suit of metal, being ran over, doesn't affect vehicles at all. |

this is bull **** and you know it. so, if a truck hits a metal door in the street the truck should explode? thats esentially what your saying... that the metal suit should be able to withstand the impact of a 3-4 ton vehicle moving at speeds greater than 60 miles an hour.
No. LAVs just need their shields and armor to take 50% damamge from small arms instead or 10%. also, You need to get some AV nades.

Well when a car on the road hits a person even at speed the car takes damage despit the car being made out of metal and having much greater mass and the person being a very squishy bag of mostly water. personally i think both should happen lav's should take some damage (proportinal to the ehps the dropsuit had at time of impact) and should take noticeable damage from small arms. |

but this is dust..
we have vehicles tougher than steel!..
dropsuits get annihilated by bullets and the vehicles dont!.
unless its the hmg...

If by 'essentially' you mean he isn't saying that, okay.
Or do you drive lavs that explode after taking 200 damage (or even 100)?

I don't know what vehicles you drive, but the ones I purchase from the market won't explode from being damaged by the suggestion I posted.
If someone has 400hp, you run them over, your vehicle loses 200. This is a way we can help discourage people from using an LAV as a primary weapon. If anyone has a better suggestion, I'm more than likely to listen. |

So after watching some youtube videos of people getting hit by cars (russian dash cams capture some crazy stuff) people generally only get run over, the vehicle actually going over them, if they are trying to end up under the wheels.
If you get hit by a LAV you should go over the hood and roll off the car. The LAV shouldn't take massive amounts of damage, and the LAV actually doing enough damage to instakill a merc should be more rare.
The deadliest part of a LAV shouldn't be the bumper. |

CCP has already stated that vehicles running people over is a bug that will be fixed in 1.4. Apparently the reason we are dying to the LAV's is that they were hitting us multiple times per second causing far more damage than intented. The fix will make it so LAV's and HAV's will only hit infantry once then push us to the side, no more getting wedged into the bumper and dragging you all over the map. |

Vehicles running people over is not a bug. When you are on a sidewalk and someone decides to drive on the sidewalk is it an issue with the driver or the vehicle hit detection? Its the driver sir. If you had an article of clothing caught in the vehicle you would be dragged all over and suffer a horrible horrible death. Why would this be a bug?
The bug is the infantry get caught in the bumper causing collision damage to be applied multiple times. that's getting fixed soon. |
