There's quite a few players that will tell you the contrary because they don't go on the forums. Haha, how many people do you think actually go to a game's forums?
My guess? Maybe 1%, tops. |

How many of those people will tell other people about what they see on the forums about this game dying? It all adds up. You have a bad experience at a restaurant, you're going to tell everyone you know right?
I mean, if you want to complain about the design of the game? (you'll never catch up, no matter what, thanks to the sp system!!) Sure. But the game isn't in trouble due to random people complaining on a forum.
People complain about all games. Complaining about an objectively bad game for being bad though? Yeah, tough ****. You can't sell the "it'll be better later" thing forever. Us "old heads" with the SP and experience are on one end. The newberries with their 4-5 months before they can actually compete? It's really hard to make an argument for them to stick around. At least with the current matchmaking system. |

That's not the community's fault, that's the game's fault.
Complaining about people complaining about a bad game for being a bad game is "blaming the victim." |

Complaining about people complaining about a bad game for being a bad game is "blaming the victim." Really? What about that nutjob that has nothing better to do but make a bunch of alts so they can bump anti-Dust/pro PS2 topics all day and just about any other doomsdayer that spam the forums just to spam? Despite what you may think, there are as many people that still have hope for this game as there's trolls. Then you have people like Cat Merc, but that's a whole different can of beans... Sounds a tad conspiracy theorist.
There aren't swarms of people unleashing their troll threads against this game trying to kill it. There are definitely a ton of (understandably) disappointed people. Many of which who won't want to stick around for the promised coming good game.
Don't get me wrong, I don't want Dust to fail. It's doing that all by itself. |
