Flix Keptick wrote:Are you speaking of that stat used for ego stroking (and corp recruitment)? Honestly it can be quite deceptive... I personaly think the wp to death ratio is a better measure of combat efficiency . As for forum wariorness the like to post ratio dominates all other form of statistic. Deaths are irrelevant. As long as you have a 1/1 K/D ratio your team is fine, any more is unnecessary. It should be how many war points per match. |

But in war (which is arguably the point of the game) clones are the fuel which keep it going. Less deaths (and more kills) means having to buy/make less clones, which means having more ISK, which equals more power to fight/win more wars. Uh... You didnt quote properly, I never wrote that and I fully agree with you. Besides, I transformed this thread into a statistics debate hehehe Opps you're right, I meant to quote hackerzilla. That's what I get for using my phone. Should be fixed now, and here's a like for my mistake. well to be fair deaths are irrelevant. The only time I would care about dying is in the last clones of a game (usually ambush) or if it was a super expensive proto suit and the kill was BS, something like getting murder taxi'ed. |

For a logi my opinion changed K/d doesn't matter if you are a logi. If you are looking for say a good assault unit K/d is going to matter. I am proud of my K/d because I am a assault unit my job is specifically made to kill enemy units i worked for my k/d. This is different for logi's though very different. But does it matter besides your pride? No. If you have a good squad/team you will be rezzed or there will be an available uplink in the vicinity. I do see your point though, in order to have a functioning squad they must be alive, and dying sets you back. But I disagree that snipers' K/D ratios matter. Sniping is just an easy way to boost your K/D. But seriously think about if K/D matters. The only plausible reasons I can think of are ISK balance, and (sorta) being there for your teammates. |

When your alive, it usually means some one on the other side just got gimped or your free to take another objective.
K/D is by far not irrelevant. if your going 3/10. Your burdening your team. might as well AFK.
*but what if they are calling out reds? or reviving?*
You know what I love about logi's? is when they do revive IN FRONT of me I can take the guy that got revived out, and then the logi.
3 blokes that can't stay on there feet for more then 3 seconds, is like 3 blokes AFKing. And if there are another 3 blokes actually AFKing, well then your **** out of luck. Like I said: as long as your K/D is 1 you aren'y burdening your team... |
