Ok CCP please tell me what is going on with this?
The militia grenade's base damage is 400 right? Well what kind of anti-armor damage bonus lets it do 656 damage to me? Really. This happened just a few hours ago.
I have been noticing rather high damage amounts done by militia locus grenades for a while but this was by far the most outrageous.
CCP has already stated that headshots can be incured from explosive weapons but only if the bast hits the head first, and this grenade was at my feet so I know that didn't happen. There are no damage mods that affect grenades. That means that this grenade did 164% of its base damage against me. Stop the madness! |

Yes that is possible in some cases but not this one since I saw the 'nade in question land at my feet thus making a headshot impossible according to CCP. |

Yep the kill feed said 656 damage from a militia locus grenade and there was only one explosion. |

Grenades do staggered damage in a radius around the initial blast point. It is possible to be in 2 of these blast radii, making the grenade hit you twice.. once at a higher value, and once at a lower value (ie. 256 and 304 damage).
Think Circle, but seems there's no exclusion if you get hit by a higher tier, to exclude the lower tiers.
I would think, possibly, and exclusion tag would help with this... if you get hit with more than 1 radius of damage, apply the highest one, and remove all other damage inflicted by flagging the soldier immune to further damage from that grenade...
but then, you'd have to assign a variable and object name to each thrown grenade to exclude it affecting anything... and it could get quite... excessive when grenade spam is going on..
But I'm not CCP, and I'll let them handle it.. they know their code.

I really don't think that is true. All the evidence I have ever seen, along with the comments from Devs about explosive weapons is that they do one damage to everything in their blast radius regardless your range from the center of the explosion. So a militia locus should do 400 to everything in its blast radius plus damage adjustment vs armor. |
