It's the reason why medium frames can push to the same eHP as a heavy, and a scout feeling like he's taking on a wall that is not that much slower than him.
Dual tanking needs to be eliminated, so that medium frames aren't pushed above and beyond what they're supposed to be.
Put those damn penalties on shields.
Don't wait for 1.5, because with the reduced penalties on armor and increased HP, all the medium frames will now go bezerk with huge amounts of eHP, with no real downsides.
If you have the penalty on shields, that means a dual tanker has two sets of downsides, rather than one. Making the suit, theoretically capable, a mess on the battlefield.
Edit: For those that don't know, CCP is waiting for 1.5 before adding a penalty on shields. The penalty is increased recharge delay for shield extenders. |

LOL THE TRAINSPOTTER wrote:whats dual tanking? its when a player uses both shield and armor modules to increase their hp. so we have to fight naked because someone cant aim? No. I believe CCP intended only either armor or shields to be used per suit, not both. Because that's how it's done in EVE.
And it looks like when you do that, the eHP values seem reasonable. But when you use both, it looks like waaaaay above the intended eHP. |

Oh and shield is mommy because shields are smaller (less eHP) but more agile.
Daddy is big and lumbering like armor. |

Give me something more compelling to put in the highs as a logi and I'll think about not dual tanking. But I don't need damage mods to do my job. https://forums.dust514.com/default.aspx?g=posts&m=1144807#post1144807 How about this? :3 |

Logic not found because you avoid it CoD has no dropsuits , items ala Dust some people You know there are other things other than HP mods... I want those to become more popular, rather than everyone and their mother stacking HP mods, because that's boring. |

nope you can duel tank in eve as well if you wish, the point of doing this is to give diversity in my eyes, to truly experiment with fittings and come up with something different...
dont forget if a player duel tanks, they loose something else, speed mods or shield regen speed, or dps, profile damp etc...
i used to fit ships in eve that had bonus's for armour with shield mods, this would confuse the enemy.
i think duel tanking is ok, as every one can do it if they wish, nothing to stop a heavy putting on shield mods as well as armour, but he pays the price of loosing dps. if you take away this ability all fits will just end up being the same, surely...
choice.... [/quote] But them problem is that EVERYONE is dual tanking. No one is going for anything else because it's the best. If there was a penalty, dual tanking would become a true choice rather than a must. |

It's not about my playstyle. It's about one playstyle being the absolute best. No one is doing anything else.
"srsly how old are you? I hope you a kid, otherwise hame on you living that long..." Is my response to you. |
