IMPORTANT PROPOSITION: I do NOT think Logi are OP. I do NOT think Logi are supposed to be harmless nurses. I do NOT complain about Logistic suits in any way. I'm not one of those.
Hello.
I was wondering about the strange pattern of Shield Recharge and Delay of Assault and Logistic dropsuits. Looking at the numbers, I can't really understand what CCP had in mind.
I'm supposing that Assault dropsuits may use a slightly more efficient shield functionality, as first line enforcers, but somehow this seems to happen for some suits and NOT for other ones. I believe it would be ok to have them comparable, but don't forget that Logistic Dropsuits have more module slots and they can improve their basic parameters thanks to those modules. Also, I've noticed that Assault Dropsuits skill bonuses tend to help (not always) shields, while Logistic bonuses tend to help armor. This makes sense to me, since a fast and reactive shield is important for assault players, even for pure armor tankers: that shield is their first defence and leave their armor intact in tactical-position war situations, when you expose yourself for one or two seconds and take cover again.
Let's see:
Assault A-1: 20/s, 6.0s, 10.0s Logistic A-1: 17/s, 6.0s, 7.0s
Considerations: Assault has slightly better recharge, but greater delay when shields are depleted. The 2 suits are somehow comparable, Assault is better if you have a lot of Shields, while Logistic is better if you have more Armor to protect.
Assault C-1: 25/s, 5.0s, 8.0s Logistic C-1: 20/s, 6.0s, 8.0s
Considerations: This definitely makes sense to me. Assault players get the best basic bonuses.
Assault G-1: 20/s, 7.0s, 10.0s Logistic G-1: 15/s, 6.0s, 8.0s
Consideration: Even though Assault has better recharge rate, I feel like the Logistic is vastly superior, especially considering that Gallente have less Shield points and they are going to fully recharge pretty fast, regardless of the recharge rate.
Assault M-1: 18/s, 6.0s, 10.0s Logistic M-1: 20/s, 6.0s, 8.0s
Considerations: ...why? The Assault Minmatar gets the worse Shield recharge rate of all Assault Dropsuits, even though it is a Shield-based suit. Also, the Logistic suit overshadows the Assault version completely.
Conclusion: The Assault Caldari suit has better shield parameters than the Logistic version. It's the complete opposite for the Minmatar. Not only Assault suits don't have better basic shield functionality (except Caldari, which seems ok to me), but the poor Minmatar are even worse. I would like to hear CCP about this.
What do you people think?

Well...its true. Your numbers show it.
Dunno. Maybe they figured people would throw on a recharger or two on those high slots. And with the passive armor regen on Minmatar suits they probably figured that people would prioritize shield regulators in their lows.
Probably just overlooked though. Wouldn't be surprised.

check out the PG/CPU of the assault minnie compared to caldari though, the assault minnie has much better CPU/PG to use its 5 high slots without the need of PG/CPU extenders, basically the assault minnie is able to use a CPU extender, 4 complex shield ext. 1 energizer, core nades, duvolle, and either a complex kin cat or cardiac regulator. Equipments usually a k2 hive, compact or whatever, needles have low pg/cpu cus they were intended for assaults.
basically i suppose they intended for the minnie assault to be a speed monster, so they gave it a longer delay time to reinforce the retreat®en aspect. and gave it extra cpu/pg to help fit speed mods on its low amount of lows but have 5 highs to have decent shields to go with. |

What do you people think?
Commandos have 7 delay 10 depleted 10 p/s regen
And not enough slots to fix it.
WHAT DO YOU THINK about this?
Grass is always greener on the other side....
And yeah, i dont know why logis have the best shield regen of all.XD |
