We've been waiting for this for how many months now? So when will we get fix? Will we ever get fix? I grow tired of not being able to choose equipment or modules.... I fear I will have re-learn how to use radial wheel when or if the will ever be a fix... |

+1, this is the fix I'd like to see....along with the ability to re-map other kb commands (like re-mapping the the leader board to something other than the damn tab key, lol).

Mouse use of the selection wheel has gotten better over the last couple of releases so there is hope it will continue to improve. Still, it is far from good and if you don't hit your choice with the first mouse movement it's very difficult to reselect. Your best bet is often to just start over.
I have no direct evidence for this, but I suspect that communication with the central server makes any action like use of the wheel, dropping a drop uplink, whatever, sensitive to communication delay and lost messages.
If that's at all true then mapping the slots to the number keys might mean you just have a new key you can press that will do nothing and need to be pressed again. To make it all work fixing the underlying communications issues may be more productive because it addresses a lot of issues.
Second point.
In a lot of threads CCP have said they want to be able to remap keys (and functions on the DS3 for that matter) but they just don't have the resources to do it now. There are too many other things they have given higher priority.
What's more, there is evidence it is not a simple ability to implement because of all the layers of hardware and software between the input devices and something happening on the display. Every time you add another layer (like remapping) input gets less responsive and the potential for unexpected consequences increases. If you want to do it right, making the changes isn't really as simple as it might seem at first.

Nah, I don't need love but I would love that the module selection worked so I wouldn't have to use passive tanks and since I am very confused how to do anything with the weird controls when driving a tank with the DS3 so yeah... if the controls actually made sense on the DS3 I would much rather use that than KB&M... |
