Let me ask you a question. Why is everyone saying that in Uprising aiming sucks? How about Chromosome? No complaints for the most part.
Do you know what's the difference? Aim assist.
They turned off some parts of it to remake it, and the result is the wonky aiming we have now.
Those sticks we use to aim? They were not designed for first person aiming, they were for the most part for stuff like 2D scrollers.
Every single console shooter that is considered to have good aiming has some form or another of aim assist.
The question isn't "Is aim assist bad?" - The question is "How much aim assist is too much?" There is subtle aim assist, and full on aim bot like aim assist, it all depends on what CCP does. |

aim assist is a necessity, and has been in every fps ever, of course.
the problem is aim assist helps the ar's a lot, and there's a lot of ar's.
also, for those of you who don't know the 'scope in' animation when you press and hold l1 is where most of the aim-assist takes place in my experience. |

Aim assist is only a necessity if you decide to cripple yourself by using inferior tools, such as a controller, in an FPS. |

As a very long served PC FPS player I know I can get HS after HS spin 360 & HS the dude tryin to back shot me with kb/m.
That is like breathing on PC, this is a console FPS however and a vast % of players on console use DS3. It is possible to be good with a DS3 as long as there is a little aim assist, just a little.
I use DS3 btw which is why I suck at dust. |

Just wondering: would aim assist fix most hit detection (lag) or not?
Believe it or not, hit detection hurts lasers as badly as semi automatic weapons, since they have no spread. |

I prefer assist off een in console shooters, sans ones I play casually. Never was my cup of tea to have control yanked away from me. |

This - hit detection and smoother turning is a bigger concern for me personally. |
