When you go to change suits at an equipment supply unit (I forget what they are called exactly), if you change to a suit that uses the same drop suit, you keep any damage on you.
But if you change to another suit, like a heavy suit, then change back to what you were in before, you lose all the damage and are at full armour.
Seems like a bug since in some instances it keeps the reduced health, as if you devs didn't want these things to be quickie repair stations. But they are, none the less. |

Why should the supply depot give away damaged suits when you switch to another type of suit?
The time it takes to switch to a different suit usually get's you killed or in a suit you don't want to be in, while quickly swapping to the same suit allowed players for a comeback while they were under fire in the past, this is why you won't restore to full armor anymore.
Not sure if it replenishes your shields...shieldtanking is gay. |

Why should anything be anything, RKKR? It's a game - they can program it to do whatever. That's why I put a question mark in - in case this doesn't actually match what CCP wants to do for their game.
And a damaged suit is always a suit you don't want to be in. It's hard to make a suit which you want to be in less than a damaged suit.
It really makes no sense to leave one suit damaged, but if you switch to a much the same suit its at full health. Even less sense that you can switch to another, then back to what you were using and now it has no damage on it.
I'll tell you what, I'll just change your post at the supply depo to another post...now I'll change back and hey presto, your post agrees with me now! Excellent! Makes sense! |

I think that this is working as intended, bu infuriating when people use it as they die to switch to a heavy with full health. |

The only bug to come from using the Depot is the resetting of the red-line timer when switching suits. |

this is as intended. it's been this way since the beta last june (2012) and earlier. basically, when you switch suits you get a "fresh" suit every time. so when you repick the damaged suit fit, you get a fresh fit in it's place. it's sort of like going into your closet. if you throw something in the hamper, would you pull it out again, or would you put on clean cloths? (i know some people would raid the hamper, but i'm talking about the majority  )
why you just can't repick the suit you are in to fix the damage, i don't know. |

Status: Currently by design, but we want to make changes in the future regarding swapping suits while being attacked to be healed
Note that the title doesn't match this post although it does send one here.
I would like to clarify something. If you are damaged and at the supply depot this is little to no reason not to receive armor repair like a vehicle does if they contact the Depot.
And the changes mentioned by CCP Logibro in the Weekly Updates sticky post are a concern. It is rare that changing the suit While Under Attack is effective. I have died under those circumstances and killed Reds that were attempting it. If you miss your chance then they will come back in a better suit, too bad. Get faster.
I do not see an issue with the Supply Depot delivering a new Fit in new condition. To do otherwise is wrong. |
