Nah I say leave heat, it would be better if they got railguns fixed before adjusting heat measures.
The Food Chain of Small Turrets is supposed to be so: Blasters: Best at Anti Infantry, worst at Anti Vehicle Missiles: Equally good at Anti Infantry and Anti Vehicle, but the best at neither Railguns: Best at Anti Vehicle, worst at Anti Infantry.
The Current Food Chain of Small Turrets: Blasters: Best at Anti Infantry, Worst at AV Missiles: Good at anti Infantry, best at AV Railguns: Suuuuuuuuuck
We need the first set, not the second. CCP make it so! I have 3 wishes after all. |

is they anything you would change besides the damage %s? btw bojo fire rate on snipers(normal) is 1 round per 1.2 seconds on rails its 1.1 seconds per round. tactical are faster then small rails and have a fire interval of 1 round per 0.6 seconds. waiting for blue tag or at least a cpm other then IWS.
the whole idea behind this is turning them from the idea they should be AV to snipers anti-infantry turrets and we know sniper rifles don't have AV abilities.
Well then that means Hybrid Turrets Operators are losing out. You see Missile Turret operators right now have it all, they have AV and Anti Infantry. If railguns are not addressed to be AV, then all the Hybrid Turret operators would have is Anti Infantry, which means that they have no AV abilities and thus lose out. It's different if they set it up for Anti Infantry, but having Anti Infantry being the only option open to Hybrid turrets seems short stick. |

The gimp isn't that they are meant for AV. I've hit people directly with Small Railguns and it will take 2 shots usually to kill. That takes a lot of skill to get 2 consecutive shots, usually on the move. What we are talking here is efficiency/damage buffing. Even if the heat is removed it's still going to be in a terrible state. I honestly think that if they arrange it so that 3-4 shots can take out an LAV, that we will need this weapon to require skill (which it already does, but I'm talking about heat management). 3-4 shots on an LAV may mean that this weapon is still UP but it's a damn start. I'm not saying that someone shouldn't be able to use Small Railguns for AI sniping but it should be harder, just as it is harder to take out vehicles with blasters.
PS: Only Proto Blasters really stand up to vehicles and even then might as well have proto missiles. Hopefully if they fix railguns then Proto Railguns would dominate the vehicle game (aside from large turrets) |
