Any new player would be ******** to grind for 6 weeks for a gun when he could get it day 1 for a few cents.
The scale is too far apart. Not that aur equilivent guns are the same as isk varients, its the distance between them.
6 week grind or buy it now=P2W yall fanbois just dont get it.
Oh really? That's funny cause one of the things about that PS2 you seem to think is so much better then DUST is grinding for guns; unless you pay of course. If your a free2play player it takes just as long if not longer to get a new gun in ps2 then a proto gun in DUST. Please don't knock on something in DUST and act like it's horribly p2w when it really isn't that bad; is grinding bad in its current state? Absolutely. Would a smart person buy the AUR variants so he doesnt have to grind for them? No; but far be it from me to accuse people of intelligence.
Now that I have that off my chest I'm not a CCP fanboy; this game needs work and the "release" was ill advised and ill conceived, I am just more patient then most and know how to not burn myself out. When ps2 comes out for the ps4 I hope this is fixed and f2p players aren't screwed like on PC; cause I'm a console gamer, I like playing on my console more then my somewhat decent computer, and I'm also a f2p player who only buys in game items that are aesthetic in purpose. I like the idea of ps2 and will be playing it once its out on ps4 alongside (gasp) DUST and others I enjoy. Playing TWO (or more) different games? What fuckery is this?
Back to the topic at hand; I can see why someone who played for a day or so would think the AUR sales are "in your face" but most of us think otherwise; I can also see how the AUR items are presented that makes it seem p2w. I think a fix for this would be get rid of the AUR items we have now over the STD variants, let people get a tase of the weapon with AUR, not get full proto. Then make aesthetic items like suit and weapon coloring, logos, eye color change, etc. Hell I'd like to see AUR used to customize my merc quarters; I'd spend money out the a** to make my merc's room bigger and look much more like MY merc's room, not just "faceless Gallente merc room".
Overall my opinion of the game is a 5/10 alone and a 7/10 with friends and a corp to play with on a regular basis. Not a AAA blow your mind game, but a decent to above average game.
