This is to all of you who say "ARMOR IS NOW OP PLEAEZ NERFZ". I have my armor skills maxed out and I have biotic upgrades maxed out. (Which gives me +5% sprint speed)
Three enhanced armor plates will put me at: 6.82m/s sprinting speed 4.64m/s walking speed 625 armor HP (+150 shields = 775 total eHP) 6.25hp/s regen <--- I have to give up a slot for that while you shield tankers get 25hp/s inherent
Three complex armor plates will put me at: 6.49m/s sprinting speed 4.41m/s walking speed 707.5 armor HP (+150 shields = 857.5 total eHP) 6.25hp/s regen
So let me get this straight. I have 1/5th of your regen, and I move much slower in exchange for 200~ eHP. How is that OP? Oh and BTW, even with max fitting skills I can't fit on my suit three complex plates + a complex repper without losing a lot of other stuff, while you can fit a CPU/PG enhancer without affecting your eHP.
If you still think that's OP, you should be banned from the game. That is all. |

I wish CPU modules were put on high slots with some PG requirements. Also wish we got a small armor repair bonus. |

Yeah, PG should be high slot, I'm really surprised they are both still low slot. |

I don't hang out on the forums much at all, so I'm not sure where anyone has ever said that armor is op... I'd agree that armor is a bit UP if anything right now, especially with the FOTD being that damned Boundless Assault Mass Driver -_-. I would like to chime in though and say that one substantial benefit armor tankers have is that the logistics role can actually boost your survivability by a few orders of magnitude, whereas all a shield tanker can get from a logi is a possible revive.

to fit four complex plates on my sentinel with all my armor skills it puts me at 1012 but i have to run everything else advanced to do it and im slower than you can imagine, hopefully the armor fix in 1.4 will help that |

Give all suits an innate armor rep, and have the amount based on race. Caldari get lowest (like 1hp/s) and Gallente get highest (5hp/s) with the other two in between, with Amarr outrepping Minmatar. |

OP, what's in your high slots?
Since you only have 150 HP shields I'm guessing you're using damage modifiers - something that shield tankers can't use without sacrificing tank.
If you used complex shield extenders and stacked 3 basic plates + 1 complex repper, you could get around 911 EHP (368 shield 543 armor) while still carrying a Duvolle, basic SMG, Core Locus, and Ishukone Gauged Nanohives. This is with all skills at level 5. Your speed would be 4.76 m/s walking and 7 m/s sprinting.
Alternatively you could swap out your repper for another basic plate and carry either Allotek or Wiyrkomi Triage Nanohives without issue (and reach an EHP of 1004 HP). New speed would be 4.73/6.96.
To carry the same weapons/grenade and the Ishukone Gauged Nanohive, a Caldari Assault maxes out at 890 EHP (with 4x complex shield extenders, 2x basic plates, and a CPU upgrade which is needed to fit everything). Speed is 4.81/7.08. It's possible to swap out the Ishukone Gauged Hive for a Wiyrkomi but this is of limited use due to the lower tank; Alloteks are not possible unless a basic plate is removed (further reducing tank). Note that the Cal Assault has no inherent armor repair.
Further, as alluded to, repping nanohives and remote rep tools are a distinct advantage that armor tankers get over shield tankers, along with their greater survivability after a revive (particularly with a proto needle).
Triage bonuses from repper hives or logi repair are an easy way to farm orbitals, and players with high armor are gold mines for such points. Cal assaults give maybe 25 or 50 WP from repping after a basic needle revive, whereas armor tankers can get upwards of 100 to 150 WP until you hit the triage cap.
Not saying that armor tanking is OP after the plate buff, but if you equip your suit the right way, you can be just as survivable as the shield tanks, if not more so.

"Further, as alluded to, repping nanohives and remote rep tools are a distinct advantage that armor tankers get over shield tankers, along with their greater survivability after a revive (particularly with a proto needle). " Shield tools are coming
"Not saying that armor tanking is OP after the plate buff, but if you equip your suit the right way, you can be just as survivable as the shield tanks, if not more so." That's the point, we trade speed for better survivability. Even then our regen is slower. Repair tools don't count as they are coming for shields too, and to use one you have to have a gun off the field. Nanohives can be destroyed. |
