While I understand the need to balance certain weapons, vehicles, and dropsuits within the game, it seems like many of these attempts to balance a weapon, suit, or vehicle result in the item in question becoming useless or close to it... or in some cases, completely overpowered by most standards. For obvious reasons, these balances can be rather damaging to players who have invested large amounts of SP into a specific area.
With the release of Uprising, everyone playing was given a respec. Everything was changed, but everyone got a chance to spend those skill points again on what was essentially a new game. I recently heard though that these respecs would never be offered again, ever, which came as a bit of a disappointment as I've acquired a number of things I don't want anymore. While I'm sure the idea has already been mentioned, I was wondering if it would be possible to charge for a respect, say... 10.000 Aurum, or $5, perhaps even $10. It seems like it would be a good way to make many of the players that are disappointed in nerfs to their favorite suits and weapons happy, while also giving CCP a way to increase Aurum sales to people who might not otherwise wish to spend any real money on this game. |

While an SP respec might be fine in other games, it probably wouldn't help CCP at all. The ability to respec in a game like Dust 514 is quite important, spending points on something you might not want or that gets changed later can be frustrating, and it could encourage spending more on Aurum to get those points back faster. That's the main thing, finding something that's beneficial to both parties, not just the players or CCP, but both sides.
$5 for a respec would be both reasonable and fair, plus it would likely encourage multiple respecs instead of a higher price that might pursued a player to only do it once and never again. |

I don't choose which suits and weapons get nerfed or buffed. Consequences for the player's action are fine, but when something gets changed so drastically that it becomes useless, it shouldn't be the player's fault for such.
I also wasn't aware that this topic has been brought up before, as I don't tend to frequent the forums.
And as for the SP reset, it makes more sense when put that way. A total percentage SP cost would work nicely and would make it less likely for it to be abused.
