I'm just going to be using info based on the proto suits that I got off the dust wiki, so if it's wrong, please correct me.
the Gallente Light gk0 gets 1 high and 4 low the Minmatar Light mk0 gets 3 high and 2 low
And it's the same for the Scout variant of both.
the Medium ck0 gets 4 high 3 low the Medium gk0 gets 3 high 4 low the Medium mk0 gets 5 high 2 low the Medium ak0 gets 3 high 3 low
It's the same for the Assault variant.
the Logi ck0 gets 5 high 4 low the Logi gk0 gets 3 high 5 low the Logi mk0 gets 4 high 4 low the Logi ak0 gets 3 high 4 low
The Basic Heavy gets 2 high 3 low The Commando gets 2 high 1 low The Sentinel gets 1 high 4 low
Clearly the Amarr drew the short stick when it comes to the total amount of module slots they have, and I'm hoping the other racial heavies get more slots, but in general, why does a heavy suit have less of a capacity for modules when it's obviously a bigger piece of equipment?
Take the tiny little scout, I can understand it having a smaller number of modules because it's all around faster and more stealthy, but at least they get an equipment slot to make up for having low survivability. But to get an equipment slot as a Heavy requires skilling into the Commando dropsuit.
I propose that in lieu of an equipment slot on both the basic and sentinel and to compensate for the Heavy's relative glass cannon-ness (slow speed/turn speed) we get more slots, even at lower tier suits.

The reason why you have less slots is because of your higher CPU/PG, stamina and stamina regen, and base EHP. |

more slots = more super tankers = weapons seem weaker. Amarr slot layout is already pretty good even though the stats do not match those in eve |

The base eHP doesn't mean jack when people can stack mods to essentially equal our own, or stack mods to take away our eHP much faster.
The higher stamina/stamina regen doesn't mean jack when we can't move as far or as fast as everyone else.
We're a larger suit, we should have more CPU/PG to handle bigger weapons. If not we should have more eHP, otherwise what's the point to having the heavy suit in game? |

Okay, take for instance the logi suits, they'd have to stack a few armor mods to be moving as slow as us. They might not have enough eHP, but they can stack additional mods to have better reps than us.
The class that shouldn't be tanking can when the class that should be tanking can't. I just don't get it. |

The armor just doesn't have enough base HP but they don't need another slot, if they get one that would require removing those extra benefits. |

What extra benefits? More PG/CPU, Stamina/Stamina Regen?
We're still slow, so if we stacked more armor mods we'd be slower but a force to be reckoned with. If we stacked damage mods, it would make us more of a force to be reckoned with (in terms of the amount of people that can attack head on, but still out maneuver us before dying)
I'm assuming that if/when the other heavy suits come out they'll have more slots than the Amarr heavy, but like I said in the quote, the class that should be tanking can't.
The heavy having more slots won't break it... and it's not like I'm asking for 10 slots, I just think that it's wrong that a medium suit has more potential tankability than the heavy suit. |
